These are the brand new candidates of Who Is The Mole 2025

By

Although many people find January a boring month after all those holidays, there is always one thing I look forward to: a new season of ‘Who Is The Mole’. From January 4, we can start our search again; this time in Cambodia. AVROTROS announces the candidates today; and that means the speculation about who is already suspicious in the group photo can begin again.

The candidates

Once again this year, it has been possible to gather a diverse group of participants, some perhaps a bit more well-known than others. Here they are: Presenter Bridget Maasland, actor Teun Luijkx (ADAM – E.V.A.), theater maker Nora Akachar, program maker Stijn de Vries, former commando Ray Klaassens (Kamp van Koningsbrugge), presenter Roos Moggré, journalist Sophie Frankenmolen, actress Maaike Martens (Luizenmoeder), presenter Gabriel Martina (also known as Wildebras) and journalist Sam Hagens.

Cambodia

This year, the candidates traveled to Cambodia in Southeast Asia. The search for the mole starts in the capital Phnom Penh. After that, the group moves on to the picturesque stilt villages of Siem Reap and the temple complex Angkor Wat; ending in the southern region of Kampot. AVROTROS describes the location as: a country full of ancient traditions and hidden stories. That sounds like the perfect setting for the mole.

Jubilee season

This year ‘Who Is The Mole’ turns 25 years old. That means an extra special season; at least if we are to believe presenter Rik van de Westelaken. “This season I find perhaps the most nerve-wracking season of my Who is the Mole? career. Because we start immediately with a plot twist – which has far-reaching consequences for the Mole.” In the trailer for the new season, we mainly see former moles passing by; what that exactly means remains exciting for now. Rik is talking about something that has never been done in the history of the program. That promises something.

I’m already getting my notebook ready; may it be January 4 soon.
