These big titles will soon disappear from Netflix

By

Before a relaxing movie night can begin, that familiar question comes up again: what am I going to watch? Fortunately, there are always new titles being added, but every month a lot also disappears from Netflix. September has many different big movies as well. I’ll give you a list so you can quickly watch them before it’s too late.

The Maze Runner trilogy

Sometimes it’s better to rip off the band-aid in one go. That’s what they must have thought at Netflix too. Not one, but all three Maze Runner films are disappearing at the end of the month. In the science fiction series, Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) must escape from a labyrinth and the people who are holding him captive. So, it’s time to quickly make a weekend free for a marathon.

Top Gun: Maverick

36 years after ‘Top Gun’ was released, Tom Cruise returned in 2022 as fighter pilot Pete Mitchell. In ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, he becomes the mentor of the new generation of pilots. Confession; I’ve never seen the original, but even then, the latest version is definitely worth it. Cruise is known for doing his own stunts, and that was the case this time as well. If you still want to watch part 1, it’s also on Netflix and will be there for a while. For Maverick, you need to be quick, the film is available until September 21.

The High Note

Want to unwind after a week of hard work? Then ‘The High Note’ is the perfect choice for this weekend. Just in time because the title disappears on September 10. Maggie Sherwoode (Dakota Johnson) is the personal assistant of singer Grace Davis (Tracee Ellis Ross) but dreams of a career as a music producer. If you’re thinking Ross as in Diana Ross, you’re absolutely right. Tracee is actually the daughter of the singer. ‘The High Note’ is what we call a feel-good movie. Not too much thinking, just enjoying. You’ve earned it.

Smile

Normally it’s nice when someone smiles at you, but in ‘Smile’, that’s a whole different story. In this film, it’s not a sweet smile, but a creepy look that means you should get out. The horror film is available to stream until September 7, just in time to prepare for the second part that comes out next month. I’ll think about it for a bit, maybe with a blanket and all the lights on.
