This summer, this is the most sought-after Airbnb in Italy

Every year, Airbnb publishes a list of the most desired stays worldwide, with delicious food for inspiration. Previously, it was a rather special stay in Tuscany that earned the most hearts on Instagram, this time it’s a slightly more normal accommodation in Italy that made the list based on the wishlist of users on Airbnb itself. Don’t expect a slick super villa, treehouse, or houseboat, but a lovely cozy cottage in the Sicilian countryside.
Most desired Airbnb
Normal or not, it’s no nonsense that the ‘Sicilian mountain oasis’ is one of the most desired Airbnbs in Italy this year. Located in the hills of Nicosia, it’s a place to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. The cozy house is surrounded by a nature reserve in the Nebrodi mountains and has a flowery little garden where you can completely hide away. The interior is a bit quaint and wonderfully Sicilian, making you feel right at home, I guess. With two bedrooms, space for five guests, a spacious living room, and a fully equipped kitchen, the villa is perfect for both a small family getaway and a romantic stay as well as for a week of remote work.
About the Sicilian mountain oasis
Because: that garden. The ideal place for a good book, opening your laptop for a workation, and for hours of dining on a warm summer evening. Additionally, the surroundings offer various activities for nature lovers; from hikes in the mountains to exploring nearby historic villages. You can also book cooking workshops on request, using organic products from surrounding farms. Sustainability is a priority here.
The house is located five kilometers from historic Nicosia, ideal as a base for Central Sicily and coastal towns that are about thirty to forty kilometers away. Other local attractions include the villages of Gangi and Petralia Soprana and nature reserves such as Campanito-Sambughetti and Monte Altesina. Perfect for nature lovers and birdwatchers (apparently), with walking and cycling paths, wonderfully authentic villages, and a similar cuisine nearby. Or just for a hideaway vacation with an outing here and there.
Finally, not entirely unimportant: the reviews of this Airbnb are all praise. The cottage is called a paradise and the hosts phenomenal. Many call it the highlight of their trip. And personally, I give it bonus points for the 139 photos in the listing. Can every stay do that from now on? And now the best part: the Airbnb still has quite a bit of availability!
