This is the only solution against hair loss

Many people probably recognize this: before you wash your hair, you brush it through. Your brush seems to be full of 3 kilos of hair. In the shower, another big clump ends up in your hands, and after showering: again a brush full of hair. Is it something to worry about? Probably not. For example, if you wore your hair in a ponytail the day before, you will notice that it seems much more than usual the next day. You lose 50 to 100 hairs every day anyway, so it's not strange that you notice something.
But what if you are really sure that it is much more than normal, over a longer period? This can be due to stress, illness, nutrition, medication, and pregnancy. This type of hair loss is usually temporary: you can solve it by paying attention to how much iron and protein you are getting, your body will usually get used to the medication you are using over time, and stress should eventually pass. With this type of hair loss, you also don't see bald spots, because this form is spread over the entire head. With alopecia, it's different. This is a form of permanent hair loss, and it is often noticeable by real bald spots. For example, men usually notice a bald spot on the top of their head first. Women can also experience this, in which case menopause is often the cause.
You've probably seen the ads for special shampoos against hair loss. Unfortunately, these products do not help against hair loss. A shampoo simply works too briefly to achieve real results. You don't get new hair follicles from shampoo, and you can't really slow down the process with it. Through your general practitioner, you can get medication or be referred to a dermatologist who can help you further. There is also a new type of treatment available called mesotherapy. In this treatment, they inject a special type of serum into your scalp to stimulate it and slow down the process. But also adjusting your diet and ensuring an overall healthy lifestyle (so yes, also reducing stress), not putting your hair in a ponytail as often, letting that hot hairdryer and straightener sit a bit more often, and using a good hairbrush makes a difference in the speed at which this process occurs. Of course, using extensions is also an option, but discuss this well with your hairdresser. Some extensions can actually cause more hair loss.
