This is why you should buy a pineapple as a single person

Bumping into the love of your life, it can happen. At least if we are to believe the new Spanish flirting trend. It turns out one item is the key to at least your next date: the pineapple.

I can imagine you’re thinking: what does a pineapple have to do with dating? It’s actually a kind of code language. In Spanish supermarkets, young people use the fruit to indicate that they are interested in a date. It works very simply. You go to the supermarket between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Then you place a pineapple upside down, an important detail, in your shopping cart. Then you walk over to the wine section and it’s a matter of keeping your eyes wide open.

Do you see someone, with a pineapple, that you like and want to let them know you’re interested? You do this by bumping your shopping cart into theirs. If the interest is mutual, the date can be planned and who knows what will come of it. It could very well be that a supermarket visit brings you to your great love.
