This series makes its comeback on Netflix

One Tree Hill

Good news for fans of the series One Tree Hill. Netflix is working on a sequel, with some of the original cast members. Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton are returning as their characters Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer. Not only that, they will also be involved as executive producers of the series.

First, let's refresh your memory. What was One Tree Hill about again? The series follows half-brothers Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan (James Lafferty), who live in the fictional town of Tree Hill. The brothers have a fierce rivalry and must find their way through all the drama, friendships, and romances that high school brings. After nine seasons, the show came to an end in 2012.

The sequel will focus more on the female characters. The story picks up twenty years after where it left off. Brooke and Peyton are now mothers, and their children are entering the halls of high school. There, they face the same struggles their parents did back then. The question is, of course, how the mothers will guide their children through this. Whether we will see more characters return is still unknown. What we do know is that Murray will not reprise his role as Lucas, so we can no longer enjoy his romance with Peyton. However, we can hope to see Daneel Ackles as Rachel Gatina. She will also be an executive producer and is in talks to revive her role.

Filming has not yet begun, and it is also unclear when that will happen. So we will have to wait a bit longer before we know when we can enjoy everything that happens in Tree Hill again.
