This TikTok-viral super breakfast is actually not that super

If you're a bit interested in healthy eating, you've definitely seen this super breakfast on TikTok. It takes over your entire algorithm, it seems like the whole world is eating nothing else. The breakfast consists only of an orange and an egg. These two bites are supposed to provide you with all the vitamins and minerals you need in a day in one go. But as is the case with all TikTok virals, you still need to do some good research on how true the story really is.

And unfortunately: this hype is also too good to be true. Because although oranges contain a nice dose of vitamin C and eggs apparently provide vitamins A, B & D, you still come up quite short. You also don't get enough minerals. Iron, zinc, and selenium are extremely important, but you will have to vary in the vitamins and minerals you consume to really get everything you need.

Of course, it's fine to prepare this trendy breakfast for yourself a few times a week, it really can't hurt, but we can't really call it a super breakfast. And admit it: variety is also delightful, right? One day a TikTok breakfast for your socials, the next day just a simple sandwich while you rush out the door to catch the train on time. That also has to do with a healthy balance.
