This will be the new Netflix series of 2025

It is sometimes almost scary how fast time goes; before you know it, we are already in 2025. Fortunately, Netflix has a very nice New Year's tradition: on January 1, just like last year, a new series based on a book by Harlan Coben will be released. The thriller ‘Missing You’ is the ninth story to become a series. After the success of ‘Fool Me Once’, it can only be expected that this one will also be mega exciting.
A sudden return
Eleven years after her fiancé Josh disappeared, detective Kat Donovan (Rosalind Eleazar) decides to give love a new chance. While she unsuspectingly swipes through her dating apps, she suddenly sees Josh's face. Kat doesn't know what is happening to her; she hasn't heard anything about him since his disappearance and still has no idea what happened all those years ago. Now that he seems to be ‘back’, Kat is forced to dive into the past. She is once again confronted with the mysterious murder of her father, and that is not the only secret that comes to light.
Harlan Coben x Netflix
American writer Harlan Coben and Netflix have proven to be a golden combination. Eight of his books have already been turned into series, and the tenth (‘Run Away’) is already in the works. Harlan has written the books and is also involved in the production of the various series. He takes on the role of executive producer, giving him significant influence over the content of the shows; they must, of course, align with how he originally conceived the stories.
‘Missing You’
In total, the series will have five episodes, all of which will be available online on January 1. Fans of ‘Fool Me Once’ will see a familiar face return: actor Richard Armitage, who played the role of Joe Burkett, will now be seen as detective Ellis Stagger. As Richard describes him: a man with a secret. We will have to wait a little longer for an official trailer for ‘Missing You’, but with the release in a month and a half, it won't be long now. To make the waiting time a bit better: all other Harlan Coben series are available on Netflix. This way, you can get completely in the mood for January 1. It seems to me the best hangover remedy; a day of Harlan-ing.
