Yes, it's that time again: ginger nuts are for sale again

Earlier this week, when it was 27 degrees outside, I walked through the Albert Heijn to do some shopping for a summer salad. When the sparrows fall from the roof, we at Huize Smit have no appetite for heavy meals and certainly not for winter dishes like endive, brown beans, or spice nuts.

Now I hear you thinking… spice nuts? Yes indeed. I had to blink three times when I walked past the eggs with my cart and bumped into that enormous blue cabinet. It was impossible to miss, because there wasn't just one, but five scattered throughout the entire store. Full of bags of spice nuts. Spice nuts, how do you come up with that. It's August, it's summer, people. SUMMER!

I know very well that in 104 days it will be December 5th, but can I please stay in sunny moods for a little longer? It took so long for the weather to finally be nice here. And I’m not ready to think about evenings that get dark early, rain tapping against the windows, or pea soup with smoked sausage. And certainly not about spice nuts with salted caramel.

Hey Albert Heijn, is it just me or is it a bit too early for this?
