5 good reasons to go to Portugal now
Maybe you'll run into Shakira

Look, and that makes my job my dream job. As we speak, I'm back behind my typewriter. Meanwhile, I'm daydreaming while looking at the thousand photos and videos. Because I was just in Portugal this weekend.
1. Sleep like a god(goddess) in the Algarve
I stayed at the Pine Cliffs Resort, one of the most awarded luxury resorts in Europe. We ate the tastiest fish – fresh from the sea, grilled, to our plate – and of course, the Vino Verde flowed abundantly. I say: this is how a vacation should be.
2. Taste the Portuguese wine as it should be
To experience the origin of that delicious Vino Verde, we visited a local winemaker. We dove into the cellars, tasted (of course) everything, and took a box home. You know, for research.
3. Start your day with yoga in the flower garden
Every morning I got up – despite the princess bed – at half past seven next to my bed. For yoga in the flower garden or a round of strength training in the new gym. Portugal is healthy, relaxed, and sunny. It should actually be prescribed by doctors.
4. Vitamin D and pampering in one trip
Portugal has the most sunshine hours in Europe – so hello, vitamin D. Add the relaxed atmosphere, the delicious food, and nature, and you know: this is the trip you need in 2025.
5. Fly in three hours – and surf upon arrival
With a flight of less than three hours, you're there. And did you know that the Algarve is a perfect place to learn to surf? The waves are friendly, the water warm, and the atmosphere relaxed. Really, we know Paris and Rome well enough now. Time for Lisbon, Porto, and Praia da Rocha.
Why Portugal is a must in 2025
- The Algarve has a 200-kilometer-long coastline full of idyllic coves
- Portugal has the most sunshine hours in Europe – hello glow
- Alternative to Paris or Rome: Lisbon and Porto are bursting with charm
- Perfect surf spots with warm water and accessible waves
- And just 3 hours of flying. A little video, a snack, arrival.
Most beloved places in Portugal
- Algarve – For sun, sea, and the most beautiful beaches. Think: Lagos, Albufeira, and Praia da Marinha.
- Lisbon – City meets beach meets pastéis de nata. Stroll through Alfama and take the tram to Belém.
- Porto – Romantic and raw at the same time. With a glass of port by the Douro, life is good.
- Comporta – The Ibiza of Portugal: chic boho, sand dunes, and design villas.
- Madeira – Perfect for hikers, flower lovers, and anyone who loves an eternal spring.
- Sintra – As if you land in a fairy tale. Castles, mountains, and mystique.
These celebs are vacationing in Portugal
- Madonna even lived in Lisbon for a while and called it her “creative oasis”.
- Scarlett Johansson was spotted in Comporta – in an eco-resort with a private beach, of course.
- Christian Louboutin has a vacation home in Melides, just like a whole row of fashion designers.
- Shakira was spotted on the surfboards in the Algarve.
- Eric Cantona and his wife even ran a guesthouse in Lisbon (artsy, of course).
