A ‘deep like’ is the best trick for finding a date

Just taking a peek at that one cute guy's Instagram can cost you dearly if you're not careful with touching your phone screen. Just that one vibration of your thumb, right on that heart, starting to scroll further: an unconscious ‘like’ is lurking in a small corner. If it's also a photo that isn't exactly recent, you might want to sink through the ground and think that the chance of this ever leading to a date has dropped to zero. But, surprisingly enough, it doesn't have to be that way at all. It can actually work in your favor.

And we call this technique ‘Deep like’

So you can also choose to consciously like a photo from a while ago, because you know for sure that this will catch that person's attention. You do need to make sure that there is a reason for you to give that specific photo a heart, so not just because that person looks great in it. That is of course a nice bonus, but if you really want to pull a date out of it, it's better to choose a photo where a real conversation can arise. For example, if you see that person has been to Australia, it's nice to ask for tips if you plan to go there too. Or when you've been to that place yourself, you can reminisce together about your time there. This way, you immediately discover more about the other person: do they love to travel? Why exactly Australia? Are there more trips planned? And so on.

The reason it can work in your favor is simple

A deep like shows that you have an interest in that person. It's not just that you simply liked the most recent photo on the timeline, you really looked at what that person has to offer and saw that you have something in common that you can talk about. Besides showing interest, it's also a clear way of flirting, because you simply let someone know that you've been scrolling through their photos. But do be a little careful: if you suddenly start liking photos from 3 years ago, and then ask a question about how their grandma is doing now, it gets pretty creepy and we call it stalking.
