You have those products that make you think: yeah right, another overhyped jar with promises from a celeb. Not meant badly, but it is important that we keep thinking and informing ourselves before we just smear something on our face. But sometimes—very rarely—it actually is true. And believe me: this is one of those cases where everyone needs this. And it’s all thanks to top model Bella Hadid.

Vogue Beauty Secrets shared a video with Bella and it had over two million views in no time. Not surprising, because everyone naturally wants to know what the model uses on her way too beautiful face. She casually mentioned that she uses about eight (!) tubes a month of the—drumroll—Weleda Skin Food, to care for and prep her skin before starting her makeup routine. Whuuuut?! That bright green, almost retro-looking tube that just sits in my bathroom cabinet and that I honestly had kind of forgotten about, she uses every day?

So what makes this cream so magical?

The Swiss brand Weleda launched the cream—you can hardly believe it—back in 1926. A cream that has been around for almost 100 years, and you might have never heard of it until today. It’s a thick, rich, all-rounder full of natural ingredients like chamomile, calendula, sunflower oil, and almond oil. It is definitely more suitable for dry skin, as it is rich. But it’s not just meant for your face: the rest of your (dry) skin will also be happy with Skin Food. Think elbows, feet, knees—you name it—but it also works perfectly for dry and frizzy hair. Yes, really. And besides its multifunctional character, it is also free from synthetic fragrances, no parabens, no junk. Everything is organic and plant-based.

Why does everyone suddenly want it?

Bella uses it as a primer under her makeup, and it makes her skin glow as if she just had a €200 facial. And she’s not the only fan. Hailey Bieber mentions it in her evening routine. Jennifer Aniston, Meghan Markle, Gwyneth Paltrow: they all swear by this cream. Even Julia Roberts once said it’s one of her favorites. And Victoria Beckham? She applies it backstage on her models—so it’s also fashion approved.

And the best part is yet to come…
It costs almost nothing. Really. For less than ten euros, you can get a tube at home. You can score it at Holland & Barrett, just at the drugstore or online.

A little more about the video
She starts, just like so many other celebs, with an ice bath. Did you know that it really has a lot of benefits? Read all about it here. Besides the Weleda cream, she also uses products from Biologique Recherche—and I get that. I’m also a huge fan of this French brand, especially of the exfoliant that she uses. There are three levels in it, and it’s wise to start with the gentlest variant and slowly build up. But you get that. What surprises me: the it-girl doesn’t use a high SPF. Not even after exfoliating (!). Luckily, she does apply a tinted moisturizer with SPF 25, so there’s at least something of protection in it. In her makeup routine, the Saie bronzer glow is also really a must-have. And have you seen that Make Up For Ever palette ? We’re definitely shopping that right away, because: looks. so. cool. Or that Fenty highlighter—oh. You get it: the video is on repeat.
