These champagne glasses you want for the holidays

Imagine this: it's Christmas Day. You've set the dining table with the most beautiful things you've collected over the past months. There's a dark green table runner, with all sorts of lovely centerpieces and large red candlesticks with burning red candles. Yes, this is the perfect dinner. One thing is essential: beautiful glasses. And not those boring standard oval ones, but something different for a change. A different shape. Do you want that too? Yes? Then this is your lucky day: we've spotted something nice again. You absolutely want these champagne glasses at your Christmas dinner party.
Sustainable glasses
Crystal glasses are very nice, but do you find yourself, like Monica Geller, barely daring to take those glasses out of the cupboard? Cool, that collection from your great-aunt, but it's not practical. I don't feel like drinking my wine through a straw ‘because the glasses mustn't get dirty’ – and you probably don't either. That's why it's time for something new. Something that doesn't get damaged easily and lasts for years. The brand Coffique has come up with something for that: glasses made of borosilicate glass.
Glass is glass, right? Ha, yes, that's true, but not every glass is the same. Borosilicate glass is designed for use at high temperatures – for example, in laboratories or professional kitchens. This type of glass is therefore much stronger than regular glass. It can withstand a bump much better, which is nice because then you have to clean up fewer shards. And the best part is that this means the glasses will last a lifetime with you. Moving from house to house, taken out of the cupboard for every event. Or well, forget that attic: you want to show off these glasses. Because besides being strong, they are also really beautiful with that floral design.
And those champagne glasses are also beautiful
Look, this is of course my personal opinion, but aren't these glasses just cute? I'm a bit done with those simple glasses. I want to make toasting during the holidays a bit more cheerful because let's be honest: such a table looks much cozier with nice glasses, right?
At 11.7 cm, this is the perfect glass. That may sound far-fetched, but it's the exact size that fits well in your hand. So you don't have to sip from a wine glass that's as big as your head, but just at mouth height. And in that 170 ml, you can really fit a large glass, so that's nice if you're looking for an excuse to drink more wine. “I've only had one glass, you know! I was allowed two, so,” you giggle in your partner's face while you've actually already had 1.5 glasses. (Disclaimer: not if you have to drive, of course. That's really a no-go.)
How do you style these glasses?
Nice that you ask. You want these eye-catchers to shine beautifully at your party, of course. You can do that in a few ways:
1. With a bow
You've probably seen this trick before, but a little bow is a great way to make your glass just a bit more fun. Now for the holidays, you can keep it on theme by making a red or green velvet bow. Fill it with your favorite red drink or even make a Christmas-themed cocktail. Anything goes in these large glasses.
2. Hang a candy cane on it
Another cute hack is to hang a candy cane on your glass. This way, you also make a glass with a transparent substance (which champagne obviously is) festive. And, don't make the mistake of holding your glass by that candy cane, because then it will go horribly wrong. I know that, uh, from a reliable source... So pay attention, instead of me.
3. Finish it off with the table setting
Don't feel like doing something special with your glasses? Then invest more effort in the table setting instead? Think big: in the center of the table, you have all kinds of Christmas branches. Dried fruit sticks out everywhere: slices of orange and those little red berries. Put some candlesticks in between or go for tealight holders. Choose beautiful red plates and fill the table with nice napkins and cutlery. By creating a full and coordinated table, you still create a party atmosphere, even if you haven't decorated the glasses.
4. Go for a cocktail
Okay, okay. I did say that these are champagne glasses, but you can always use these big ones for other cocktails too. Ditch the champagne and make a festive Bloody Mary or a Santa gin and tonic. Add a sprig of rosemary for the look and before you know it, the table is decorated with red cocktails. They look really beautiful in your new glasses.
Have I convinced you yet? Believe me: these glasses are really going to steal the show. Those things that fit so well in your hand are nice to drink from, right? So yes... when you shine during the Christmas dinner, your glasses will too. Cheers.
