Christmas trends for 2025: Country House and Cookies & Cream

By

For me, the period leading up to Christmas is always the coziest time of the year. Wonderful parties and dinners in cozy homes filled with candles and outdoor fireplaces. From December 6, there will immediately be a Christmas tree. Every year, I always first look for the Christmas trends for this year. This year, I want to find everything (what’s new). For the tree, for next to it, just everything. Up to the cutest wrapping paper, the cutest napkins and candles with ribbons.

These are the Christmas trends of 2025

1. Frosted Galaxy

Delicious icy shades of blue, silver, and white that sparkle like stars in the sky. But then in your Christmas tree. The frosted galaxy trend is a bit of a futuristic approach to Christmas decoration. Stars, planets all in an icy, galactic atmosphere. Perfect for those who love a bit of magic.

2. Country House

Ooooh, I think I’m totally for this trend this year. After Yellowstone, I’m a fan of everything in Country House style. Especially all that coziness and charm of the trendy countryside. Do you love that too? Because then country house is really the cozy trend of this year. Delicious warm earth tones, lots of wooden accents like tree trunks and knitted blankets. This rural trend comes with a lovely crackling fireplace.

3. Winter Oasis

The winter oasis trend ensures that your home transforms into a serene, winter retreat. So soft, calm colors like ice blue, silver, and white, but then combined with natural materials like lots of wood and stone. Warm lighting and lots of candles. Especially a soft and calm (a bit zen-like) atmosphere.

4. Timeless Treasures

For those who love the classic Christmas style but with a modern twist, or in other words: the timeless treasures. This is also called the trend of 2025. Lots of golden accents, glitter, shiny ornaments, and many luxurious textures like velvet and silk. This could be Christmas decoration that you can keep mixing in your living room all year round, not everything, but a few items. This trend is pure elegance, as if you are in a chic ballroom.

5. Cookies & Cream

Also a favorite! Here it is. This is so fun and cozy. Cookies & Cream is one that reminds you of the sweetest moments of Christmas: cookies & cream. Think of brown natural tones and white and creamy colors, combined with the cutest cookie-shaped decorations and delicious soft, decadent fabrics. Lots of wood, wonderful scents in your home from freshly baked cookies. Thick socks on. I think I’m going to combine this trend with the Country House trend.

6. Classic Christmas classics

Of course, the classic Christmas decorations are still there. You don’t have to buy everything new. Certainly not. The timeless combinations of red, green, gold, and silver will always be in fashion. Everything is possible, so the Christmas balls you have and your pine cones or old-fashioned candles and your traditional Christmas stockings: this will last forever. Just this classic style always brings a nostalgic Christmas feeling. It’s the best thing you can do, returning to the Christmas traditions you’ve always known and that will always work.

Must-have item: the bow

Yes, the bow. I think it’s so cool. Making it myself wasn’t really an option. But it remains the must-have of this year: the bow! Whether you choose a huge bow that fills your entire Christmas tree, or just lots of cute little bows to decorate your table. So also for you: you can’t escape the bow in 2025. They come in all shapes, sizes, and materials. Think of velvet and glitter fabric, and they can be found everywhere: on ornaments, gifts, napkins, candles, table decorations, and even on your Christmas outfit.

What wonderful new themes will we see in stores this year. Just that alone is worth a visit to the big Christmas shows. For me, it will be a mix of Country House, Cookies & Cream, and a bow here and there.

I’m curious what you choose. Or maybe you’re adding nothing at all to your Christmas assortment, or maybe a few cute little new things. One thing is for sure, I wish you the most fun, coziest, and loving Christmas. With or without decoration.

Don’t forget to add a little splash of Baileys to your coffee (yes yes, even in the morning). That makes life a little more fun.
