Everyone has an opinion about this ‘White Lotus’ actress

The third season of ‘the White Lotus’ doesn't seem to be as big a success as the previous series. Of course, we all miss the presence of Jennifer Coolidge, but it's certainly not the actors of this season's fault. Right now, everyone is talking about the English Aimee Lou Wood. Besides the fact that her character is hilarious (she plays a rather silly girl who is on vacation with her grumpy rich boyfriend), the media is mainly focusing on her distinctive teeth. Uh, yes. Teeth, yes.
What is so special about a less than perfect set of teeth?
In Hollywood, it's the most normal thing in the world to have your teeth filed down to stubs so you can have pearly white fake teeth placed over them. Or to receive some Botox injections in the face, out of fear of getting wrinkles. Probably that's why Aimee is getting so many positive reactions about her looks. She is one of the few who hasn't succumbed to the standard beauty ideal that exists today. She even claims not to use Botox. She is proud that fans talk about her looks this way: ‘it feels a bit rebellious!’ She doesn't see the point of those veneers at all; it's her distinctive looks that ensure she gets cast for certain roles. She is fantastic with different accents, but the director of ‘White Lotus’ wanted her to use her real Manchester accent to give her role some extra power.
She doesn't look American, with or without Botox.
When Aimee previously used an American accent for her role in an American play, she was immediately told after the performance that she couldn't be American. That had nothing to do with her accent, but purely with her teeth: ‘It's my teeth. No American has my teeth.’
Let's hope she stays her original self, because we already have enough of the standard Hollywood stars.
