Forget the HEMA tompouce: This is the Tom-soes

You know it well, the mega famous and oh so delicious Hema tompouce. But what if I tell you that Hema has come up with something new – and maybe even something better? Because let's be honest, the war you have while eating such a tompouce is real. Hema introduces: Tom-soes.
Tom-soes
Hema did it again, because everyone is totally in love with the new tom-soes. Last week they were in the store and were handed out for tasting and the assortment went quickly. The name says it all; the tom-soes are cream puffs with a twist. Inside is a delicious thick vanilla custard, the same as in the original tompouce. And just like the chocolate puffs, these puffs have a topping. Not chocolate of course, but pink icing. The puffs are not round, but a bit oval, to keep the idea of those rectangular tompouces a little bit intact. For €1.99 you get 10 tom-soes.
No more dirty tompouce noses
‘I prefer a Tom-soes, because then you don't get dirty hands,’ says Lotte Kriekaard, one of the chosen ones who handed out the famous puffs for Hema last weekend. Well, it's always a war when you eat such a tompouce, and these new puffs prevent the awkward eating, but retain that delicious taste. No more pink noses during snacking. And speaking of snacking: ‘I personally ate about 9,’ Lotte laughs.

Hema mice as a treat
No idea what to make for your kids' treat? These puffs are the solution for when they have a birthday: for less than ten euros you can make these pink mice. Buy 2 packs of Hema Tom-soes, red laces and edible eyes. Mix a bit of powdered sugar – you probably have some at home – with water until you have a thick mixture and use this to stick the edible eyes on one end of the tom-soes. Cut or slice the laces small and poke them into the back of the puff. Done, because now you have mega cute pink mice to hand out as a treat for your child at school.
Making your own tom-soes
And last but not least: how fun is it to make these puffs yourself with this a recipe from Foodies? You can of course also make them to put on the sweet snack board during wine time. One thing I know for sure, I will definitely keep eating this better variant of the tompouces until I, well, get tired of it.
