This perfume by Kylie Jenner helps with insomnia

Instead of sitting on the train back to Brabant after an Amayzine workday last Thursday, I didn’t go home, but May gave me a ride to Amsterdam-Noord, where I was invited for a dinner with Kylie Jenner. Well, not with Kylie herself, unfortunately - although photos were regularly sent to the headquarters in LA so Kylie could watch along - but to get to know her new fragrance: Cosmic 2.0.

Once I arrived at the dinner, I easily found my seat because, how nice, my name was engraved on the silver-colored bottle that was at my plate. Since I was early, I had time to study the menu and immediately saw that the ingredients of the fragrance were incorporated into the menu.

Everything about the new perfume

During the dinner, you could smell different fragrance notes, there are a total of six, of the perfume separately. The two base notes are amber and sandalwood. Sandalwood ensures that a fragrance lingers and that when you walk past someone wearing the scent, it leaves an incredibly nice trail. Fun fact: Sandalwood is often used for insomnia and depression. Amber adds more depth and warmth to the scent. Amber pairs perfectly with the woodiness of sandalwood and this combination truly makes the perfect base of the perfume. The heart notes of the fragrance are vanilla, orchid, and lavender. Vanilla is Kylie’s favorite and of course could not be missing in the scent. Cosmic 1.0 was very floral and although lavender returns in Cosmic 2.0, it is less floral than the first perfume. The 2.0 really smells a bit spicy, which comes from the top notes: pear and pink pepper, that pink pepper enhances the other notes in the fragrance. The top notes provide ultimate sexiness.

Ooooooh, the making-of: The shape of the bottle is very special - but this is of course no news for all Jenner fans. For the Jenner newbies who have no idea what I’m talking about: the bottle is inspired by the sisterly relationship between Kendall and Kylie. Kendall and Kylie hug two times a ceramic vase, and the curves that the vase retained were used as inspiration to create the bottle –here the video. The silver bottle was on the table for everyone during the dinner and everyone’s name was engraved in the bottle. ‘Cosmic Keesje’ was engraved in my bottle, how cool. Cosmic 1.0 was transparent and had a pink cap, 2.0 now has a silver look. This spicy look fits perfectly with the seductive scent.

At the table! Yes, because the menu featured delicious dishes inspired by the scent. All the food was vegetarian, because did you know that Kylie also eats a lot of vegan ? As a starter, we had marinated tomatoes with kalamata dressing, parmesan cheese, vanilla, lavender, and basil. For the main course, there was carrot risotto with spiced mascarpone, sunflower seeds, black garlic, and a red fresh sauce to bring out the floral side of the fragrance. And for dessert, a roasted pear with caramel milk and pink pepper ice cream was served. And oh my days, that pink pepper ice cream was something I had never tasted before. A bite of that ice cream with a spicy hint of pink pepper and you immediately taste the spicy note that is present in the fragrance.
