Love Is Blind Season 9: The least successful season ever

Only no at the altar
The format is now, quite rightly, legendary: singles get to know each other through conversations in the famous pods, without ever seeing each other. They talk to each other with a wall in between. Only after a proposal are they allowed to meet each other in real life . The magic of this experiment: love without appearance. (In theory, that is).
But in season 9, the Denver edition, all this magic disappeared somewhere between the pods and the altar. Six couples engaged, four broke up before the wedding, and the two couples that do went towards the altar (Handsome Ali & Anton and Kalybriah & Edmond) both said no anyway. And with those last “no’s,” this Denver season ended in a kind of collective relationship refusal.

Sparkle Megan: entrepreneur, glam queen, and now mother
One of the nicest, sweetest, and prettiest participants this season was definitely Megan Walerius (renamed to Sparkle Megan). This super sympathetic woman expressed her love for tennis on Wednesday mornings and her honesty about money and career. This quickly earned her star status. Her relationship with Jordan, a hard-working father with a full-time job in logistics, ultimately crashed on real life.
During the reunion, however, Megan dropped a surprise (the series was recorded 1.5 years earlier), namely that she is now the mother of a son, Brooks. It turned out that Megan had found her husband after the recordings and was already pregnant after three months. Her new partner Paul was also in the audience. And she had managed to keep that quite secret until a few days before, when we saw some photos of Paul and a baby appear online. But that was pure speculation, as there was no trace of a baby on social media until then. Hats off to Megan & Paul.

Kacie, Patrick, and the ring
Kacie & Patrick, it couldn't be more awkward. Kacie decided after the engagement and the red carpet, where they saw each other for the first time, that she did not find Patrick attractive. She made up an excuse not to go to Mexico. Patrick then never heard anything again. Their break-up was already awkward, but the reunion added to it. Patrick mainly wanted one thing: clarity and a sincere sorry. What did he get? A lot of evasive glances, a discussion about whether or not to return the engagement ring, and the fact that Kacie said people were sending her death threats online. That is reality TV at its ugliest.

Joe’s love triangle: it doesn't get messier
Then we had Joe. First engaged to Madison, it turned out he had a mini-relationship with Kacie. We heard that a bit cowardly at the reunion. Ultimately, everything was unmasked as one big mess. Madison was not amused about this, as Madison also confessed that Kacie called her her “Eskimo sisters” (two women who have had sex with the same man, at different times). Nice and crude, Kacie. This was also felt and seen by both the audience and the cast. Netflix wanted reality? Yep!
But what did the fans think?
Delightful to search online for what fans wrote about this season:
This season was a soap without an end.
Love is Blind? Meer zoals Love is Blind…ed door roem
The cast seems only interested in Instagram deals and podcasts.
Not one couple remains. Why am I still watching this?
Respect for Megan. She is now a mother and presented that stylishly.
The reunion felt like a messy brunch with exes and too many mimosas.
Conclusion: Love may be blind, but we, the viewers, are not
Season 9 is undoubtedly the least fertile season ever. No love that held up, but a lot of drama and immature behavior. Still, I keep watching. Love Is Blind For me, this is really a guilty pleasure. And good to know: season 10 is already on the way. Maybe with a better cast. Maybe with real love. Maybe.
