Love Is Blind Season 9: The least successful season ever

Denver is clearly the least fertile ground in America. Zero weddings. Zero!!
For the first time in the history of the American version of Love Is Blind, no couple actually made it to the altar. All six couples who had enthusiastically gotten engaged in the pods ended up at the altar with no hope. What a shame. The “I love yous” were flying around, but in real life, everything turned out to be much less solid. And this despite the fact that six couples left the pods with a ring on their finger. So...
Just no at the altar
The format is now, rightly so, legendary: singles meet through conversations in the famous pods, never seeing each other. They talk with a wall between them. Only after a proposal can they meet in real life. The magic of this experiment: love without physical appearance. (In theory, at least).
But in season 9, Denver edition, all this magic vanished somewhere between the pods and the altar. Six engaged couples, four broke up before the wedding, and the two who actually made it to the altar (the beautiful Ali & Anton and Kalybriah & Edmond) both said no anyway. And with those last two “no's,” this season in Denver ended in a sort of collective rejection of relationships.
Sparkle Megan: entrepreneur, glam queen, and now also a mom
One of the most charming, sweet, and beautiful participants of this season was undoubtedly Megan Walerius (nicknamed Sparkle Megan). This super charming woman openly talked about her love for Wednesday morning tennis and her honesty regarding money and career. In this way, she quickly gained star status. Her relationship with Jordan, a hardworking father with a full-time job in logistics, ultimately did not withstand reality.
During the reunion, however, Megan revealed a surprise (the series had been filmed 1.5 years earlier): in the meantime, she became a mom to a baby, Brooks. After filming, Megan found her man, and after three months, she was already pregnant. Her new partner Paul was present in the audience. And she managed to keep the secret quite well, at least until a few days before, when some photos of Paul with a baby appeared online. But it was just speculation, because until then, there was no trace of a baby on social media. Hats off to Megan & Paul.
Kacie, Patrick, and the ring
Kacie & Patrick, it couldn't be more awkward. After the engagement and the red carpet, where they saw each other for the first time, Kacie decided that she didn't like Patrick physically. She made up an excuse not to go to Mexico. Patrick never heard from her again. Their breakup was already uncomfortable, but the reunion made things worse. Patrick wanted one thing above all: clarity and sincere apologies. What did he get? Avoiding glances, a discussion about whether or not to return the engagement ring, and the fact that Kacie said she had received death threats online. Reality TV at its worst.
Joe's love triangle: more complicated than this is impossible
And then there's Joe. First engaged to Madison, then it turned out he had a mini-relationship with Kacie. It came out a bit vaguely during the reunion. In the end, it turned out to be a big mess. Madison didn't take it well, and she also confessed that Kacie had called her an ’Eskimo sister“ (two women who have been with the same man at different times). How vulgar, Kacie. The discomfort was palpable both in the audience and among the cast. Netflix wanted reality? Here it is!
And what do the fans think?
It's wonderful to search online for what fans are saying about this season:
This season has been a never-ending soap opera.
Love is Blind? More like Love is Blind...ed by fame
The cast seems only interested in Instagram sponsorships and podcasts.
No couple is left. Why am I still watching?
Respect for Megan. She's now a mom and announced it in style.
The reunion felt like a chaotic brunch with exes and too many mimosas.
Conclusion: love may be blind, but we viewers are not
Season 9 is undoubtedly the least fruitful ever. No love that lasted, but plenty of drama and childish behavior. Yet I keep watching Love Is Blind. For me, it's truly a guilty pleasure. And good news: season 10 is already on the way. Maybe with a better cast. Maybe with true love. Maybe.
