You undoubtedly know Charlotte from her amazing beautiful site The Fashion Guitar. Many beautiful outfit posts with nice texts, and an Instagram account where a good 144,000 followers sympathize with her. When I was in New York or the visit to I really wanted to sneak a peek into her bag, but unfortunately that didn't work out. Thank goodness we have the internet for that, and so everything I wanted to know about Charlotte and The Bag neatly rolled into my mailbox. Here we go.
How many designer bags do you have at home? And what was your very first designer bag?
“I have never counted them, but due to my work, it has become quite a collection. My first designer bag was a bright orange Furla Candy bag, which I won in a photo competition from Susie Bubble – from the blog Style Bubble. I remember very well that this bag – this was about five years ago – was extremely popular, so I was over the moon!”
Are you careful with your bags or do they lie somewhere in the corner of your closet?
“A bag is a utility item, so I just use them as bags and don't handle them extra carefully. I am generally just neat with my things, so I don't expect anything to go wrong in my daily use. Of course, accidents can happen, but I try not to worry too much about that. It would be a shame if you didn't use an expensive bag, which you are so extremely happy with, because you are afraid something might happen to it, right? I do keep my bags neatly, in their protective covers, neatly on a shelf or on a hook in my wardrobe. When I get home, I sometimes throw them over the corner of the high chair. Yes, there has been a blob of yogurt from the kids on my Chanel Boy Bag... but that came off so easily.”
Which one do you take with you the most?
“That depends on my outfits. At the moment, I am in love with the Chloe Faye bag (small and large), so I wear that a lot! In the photos, I am wearing the small version.”
Which one have you saved the longest for or put in the most effort to acquire?
“The Chanel Boy Bag.”
“I never leave the house without red lipstick. Preferably the Rouge from CHANEL. Whether I have it on my lips or not, it has to be in my bag. The same goes for paracetamol. Besides that, of course, the daily things like keys, wallet, and car papers. Oh yes, and my sunglasses. Not only for the fashion factor but also for driving. From Ray-Ban to CHANEL, Burberry, Tod’s, yes, I have more than enough of those.”
“Keys, phone, cardholder, hand cream, and sunglasses.”
Finally, which item is currently at the top of your wishlist?
“To be very honest, I currently don't have a bag that is at the top of my wishlist. I am waiting until I see this new “obsession” pass by!”
