Models don't have to retire at 25 anymore

“A young woman’s career is done at 25” said Kim Kardashian once, so a model would be done with her modeling work as soon as she turns 25. Various fashion brands see that this doesn't have to be true at all.
My favorite brand Jacquemus has fully embraced models who are not 23 years old. Doutzen Kroes (40) and Eva Herzigová (51) stole the show with their most beautiful looks. They radiated on the catwalk and proved that beauty and elegance have no expiration date. This is a clear statement from Jacquemus and other fashion houses, who are increasingly choosing diversity in age.

The idea that a model is ‘too old’ after the age of 25 is so outdated and really doesn't fit in a time where representation and inclusivity are becoming increasingly important. We saw in recent seasons at Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, and even Victoria's Secret models with more ‘experience’. Not only on the catwalk but also in various campaigns. As far as I'm concerned, this is a great inspiration for all brands. Now let's hope it's a long-awaited evolution and that all models are always seen.
