The new Gisou lip oils are our fall favorite

Yes, Gisou can do nothing that I don't love. Whether it's about their fantastic house style, packaging, or lip oils: I want it all. Now there's something new to add to your (or actually, my) shopping cart: they have three new autumn lip oils – and folks? They are really good.
Three autumn colors
Your fall cravings have been bottled up by Gisou. This season they have conjured up three new lip oils: Vanilla Glaze, Sticky Toffee, and Milky Mocha.

Vanilla Glaze is a light pink lip oil that tastes and feels like a vanilla sundae for your lips. This buildable milky pastel color has neutral undertones, making it suitable for every skin tone. The color doesn't come out of nowhere: it's based on fluffy vanilla cream. What they've really nailed is the scent. As soon as you apply it, it tastes and smells like you're actually eating a vanilla pastry.
The lip oil infused with Mirsalehi honey consists of (you guessed it) that honey and an oil blend inspired by the garden where the Mirsalehi bees fly around. It contains omega 3, 6, and 9, which keep your lips hydrated. The hyaluronic acid helps with that. Additionally, it contains buriti oil, which repairs your lips, jojoba seed oil (rich in vitamin E and essential vitamins to soften your lips), meadowfoam oil to protect the barrier, and blueberry seed oil, which is also packed with omega 3 and 6. All these ingredients together create the finest lip oil you've ever tried from Gisou.

Sticky Toffee is a light caramel color that tastes and smells like – the name says it all – a sticky toffee cake. I can confirm this as a proud owner of the lip oil: it really smells like caramel and toffee. Almost like those Werther’s Original candies, very nostalgic. The buildable brown color resembles dulce de leche and looks stunning. It's a bit of the nude of the trio.
This one has the same ingredients as the previous lip oil. All those oils and natural substances ensure that you have a non-sticky, soft lip product that lasts all day. Because yes, it stays put. Even after eating and drinking, my lips still feel somewhat hydrated. This is the ideal intermediate color: an autumnal nude. Warmer than Vanilla Glaze, but lighter than Milky Mocha.

And then the last one: Milky Mocha. This dark fall color is exactly what you want to wear this autumn. It has a bit of a 90s lip vibe, like Lorelai often wore in Gilmore Girls. Only this one is not matte, but glossy and nourishing. It looks like a mocha (which it is based on): a mocha pastry. I'm already drooling at the thought of those desserts. And with the scent, it really feels like you're wearing a dessert.
With the same ingredients as the previous lip oils, this is again a recipe for healthy lips. Look, it's not petroleum jelly, but also not a drying oil. It is clinically proven that your lips stay hydrated for up to 8 hours, with glossy shine.
Why these are perfect for autumn
Look, in autumn you can wear all sorts of colors. Are you going out with bright orange lipstick? Fine, if that's what you want. But there are also colors that are just a bit more... harmonious with the season. Brown, soft pink, and caramel tones are year after year the colors of autumn. Sure, burgundy and eggplant purple are also beautiful, but they can sometimes be a bit intimidating. Then these lip oils are perfect: the colors are buildable, so you decide how intense or subtle your lips become. Combine it with a nice lip liner and you have your new fall lip combo.
Are they really hydrating?
Okay, let me be honest. Previously, I didn't think Gisou's lip oils were the best. I was a fan of everything, but at some point, the formula changed. My lips dried out and felt completely unmoisturized. After a while, I dared to order a new color again: Watermelon Sugar. And as if a new world opened up for me: the formula had been adjusted. It felt like the old familiar lip oil again.
So yes, when the autumn versions came out, I couldn't help but order them. For now, I only have Sticky Toffee, because I have a weakness for that brown caramel shade. But – and this is a big but – I want to try the other colors instantly too. How fun is it that you can match your lip color with your outfit? I'm so looking forward to that.
What Gisou does well is marketing
Of course, we didn't come here to discuss the marketing of this brand, but I can't help but mention it. As I said, I'm a fan of everything about this brand. The packaging, the cute yellow box in which you receive your package, the Instagram posts... Everything is aesthetically pleasing and forms a beautiful whole. Every detail has been thought out: every photo follows their recognizable style. When you see a photo, you immediately know it's Gisou.
For autumn, they are also doing something very clever: a collaboration. And not just with anyone, but with Cédric Grolet, master pastry chef in Paris.

Say Bonjour Paris, because you can taste the inspiration behind the lip oils at Cedric's patisserie. The exclusive pastries can be enjoyed on October 4 and 5. Besides the fact that those photos look fantastic, you can eat more than just sugar. You can drink coffee in Gisou mugs and there is a merch line. A what? Yes, a merch line for lip oils. I know, sounds odd, but it's true. All in that cute autumn theme: like the fuzzy hair clips (ideal when you're doing your makeup or trying to get your curtain bangs right). Or a dark chocolate brown pouch in which you can keep all your essentials on the go. There are even Gisou charms attached, like a mini lip oil. Amazing, right? I can't wait, because that merch line is dropping soon. You can already sign up for the waiting list.
Unfortunately, I can't just take the train to Paris right now, so I have to make do with the merch for now. I've already signed up, you know. Until then, I'm wearing my favorite lip combo: Rare Beauty Kind Words Matte Lip Liner in Neutral Mauve, topped with the Sticky Toffee lip oil.
