According to TikTok, this outfit gets the most attention from men

Yes, it's incredibly addictive. Yes, I waste at least a few hours of my time on it every day. But TikTok isn't that bad for the brain either, because I learn enough good things from it. For example, I now know all the ins and outs of skincare, I've discovered the magic potion against bloating, and I know how to get rid of a cold in two seconds. Without that app, I would have never known this, that's for sure.
With the latest addition being a tip that might come in handy for a fresh single: the outfit that TikTok says earns you the most free drinks at the bar. Always good to know, right?
What is the comfy girl theory?
Where you might think that a mini black dress, high black boots, and a full face of glam are the key to success, it turns out that in practice, this can be quite disappointing. Enter the ‘comfy girl theory’: a trend on TikTok that suggests you get more attention when you go to the bar in a casual outfit. Think: hoodie, jeans, a bit of mascara, and you're good to go.
On TikTok, it's being tried out en masse by women who walk into their local bar in a simple pair of jeans and a sweater. And if you believe the reactions? It works.
‘I got so much attention in my gray sweater and black leggings, while everyone else was walking around in dresses and heels.’
One woman even claims to have scored her dream guy with this look. No complicated hairstyles, no heels, just comfort first. You can even take it a step further with sweatpants – although that is a bit American. But hey, you do you.
What do men think of it?
The male audience has also made their voices heard in the comments, and the opinions are surprisingly positive. ‘Comfortable clothing means you come across as less intimidating and seem friendlier,’ they say. And honestly? There's something to be said for that.
I tested it myself
Maybe I tested this with my best friend this past weekend. Unintentionally, I must say. We decided last minute to dive into the city in our most comfortable outfits. And I can tell you one thing: it works. Like a charm.
