I ordered (almost) everything from Rhode so you don't have to.

You don't want to know how long I've waited for this. The date was in big letters in my agenda, the alarm was set, because I was still waiting until the end of the day. I didn't want to miss anything, so even before the starting signal, I had already put everything in my shopping cart. And even before you could officially order, I could already check out and shop. I felt just like I was at the front of the ticket sales for Beyoncé and ordered (most of) the products I wanted. But wow: what happened to the price? My shopping cart in dollars was almost half of the amount in euros. While the dollar is really lower, right? Well, no complaining. I had to have it.

Of course, I ordered one of the newest products: the Glazing Mist, but also The Glow Set (tip from my dear friend Laura) with the Glazing Milk and Barrier Butter, and the Lip Glaze, the lip shaper, and Blush Stick. The order was surprisingly delivered quickly, as if it had been waiting for me on the corner of the street. There it was: the bright yellow box with contents that I had been waiting for all this time. I know, I know, I could have ordered it through various channels earlier, with all sorts of detours, but we all knew that this moment would eventually come.

My very first Rhode reaction: the Blush Stick

On top was the blush. How small is that? In my perception, it was a lot bigger, judging by all those beautiful videos of Hailey. But okay, it's about the content, not the packaging. The blush in the color Sprinkle feels nice, is quite pigmented, so I first applied a thin layer on the top of my hand and from there on my face. Super easy to blend on your skin. Okay, no comments so far.
Or maybe: when I continued with my makeup, I quickly noticed that the blush was disappearing a bit. As if my foundation was eating the pigments. So I waited a bit and applied another layer. Luckily, that one stayed put. A double dose then, okay. Just like Hailey always does in her videos. And I love blush, so that's not too bad.

The Lip Glaze in the color Ribbon

I opened it and was surprised by the applicator, so small. And on your lips, applying it feels a bit cheap. But: the color Ribbon is very nice pink, feels soft and not sticky. Only: absolutely nothing different from other lip glosses or balms that I already have. Nice to have, but no mega added value. Well, now we know that too.

And then the Lip Shaper from Rhode

I of course tested that too. The color was beautiful, neutral and the stick glides easily over your lips. It feels creamy, so no hard, scratching pencil. You can smudge it with the fairly hard smudger on the back, but honestly: I found my finger just as effective. It also contains caring ingredients, so your lips stay soft. But just like the lip glaze: not necessarily groundbreaking. Just a nice, fine liner, but not something you've never seen before.

The new product: the Glazing Mist

How beautiful is the commercial? This time not with Hailey Bieber, but with Harris Dickinson. Phew. For the first time, the packaging (the bottle) really feels luxurious. In a beautiful, soft natural pink color, which I immediately want to paint on my wall. The spray applicator is surprisingly wide: what I expected with the lip glaze but didn't get, is present with this mist. The mist is super fine and falls softly on your skin, no hard drops as if it's raining. Very subtle, so this mist gets a 10/10 from me. And your skin? It shines. Like a glazed donut. It almost seems like there's a thin mask over your skin. Wow. The result is beautiful, the feeling a bit less. Because suddenly my skin was sticky, which it hadn't been before. It's a mist with moisturizing, caring ingredients, and Hailey is of course known for that sticky & glowy skin. So that sticky feeling doesn't surprise me. And it's not that uncomfortable.

The Glazing Milk and Barrier Butter

I had ordered this in the Glow Set. Not full-size products, but perfect for on the go or - as in my case - to try out. The Glazing Milk indeed feels, as all the TikTok girlies say, very soft on your skin. Absorbs quickly, even with my dry skin, and doesn't feel tight or sticky. You quickly see that Hailey glow. No complaints then. And: it doesn't sting (which happens regularly with my sensitive skin). Only with the first spray of the Glazing Mist did I feel a slight tingling.

Over the milk, I applied a thin layer of the Barrier Butter The name says it all: it's quite buttery. The description is not for nothing The Intensive Moisture Balm and it is indeed. Too rich for daytime (unless your skin is really very dry), but perfect for the evening. Applies beautifully, smells neutral, and my skin felt nourished. Until the next morning... Because: what was that pimple doing there all of a sudden? My skin reacts quickly, so I feared that the cream was too greasy for me.

But to be fair: you can only really judge new skincare after thirty days. Unless your skin reacts strongly right away, then it's wise to shop with it. So I continued applying, and the irritation disappeared. My skin feels soft, supple, and hydrated. Would I order it again? In winter, definitely. In summer, I'll leave it for a while.

My Rhode final verdict

Rhode's skincare gets a solid pass from me. Beautiful products, nice textures, and really a very nice glow. The makeup? Mwah. Not a must for me. There are plenty of other options that work just as well, or even a lot better and then for the same money (or less).
