These are the 8 series we are looking forward to

Now that summer is behind us, it's time again for lounging on the couch and binge-watching series. We have to do something when the weather suddenly changes and you don't want to sit soaking wet on the terrace. Don't feel like spending your entire evening figuring out which new series to watch? No problem, we've already done that for you.

Task (HBO, September 8)
Mark Ruffalo is back baby, and this time as an FBI agent. He already has experience in this role, as he has played such an agent before. In Task Tom (Mark Ruffalo) leads a task force in the suburbs of Philadelphia. They want to put an end to a series of robberies on drug houses committed by an unsuspecting family man. Oh, that's why they're in a suburb. Who could that be? We want to see Mark shine in his agent suit.
Only Murders in the Building s5 (Disney+, September 9)
They're back: the funniest trio on contemporary television. Mabel (Selena Gomez), Charles (Steve Martin), and Oliver (Martin Short) are once again solving murders in the Arconia. Another resident is dead, and when the police claim this happened under ‘natural circumstances’, the trio (again) starts investigating. With 49 Emmy nominations under its belt, this is truly a top series. It's the perfect murder mystery: funny and thrilling.

The Girlfriend (Prime Video, September 10)
We've picked another juicy psychological thriller for you. Laura (Robin Wright) has everything her heart desires: a good career, a loving husband, and a wonderful son, Daniel. Her perfect life derails when Daniel gets a new girlfriend: Cherry (Olivia Cooke). She seems like the ideal daughter-in-law, but Laura is sure something is off with this brunette. Is she just using Daniel to boost her image? Or is Laura just paranoid? We follow her as the mystery unfolds and she begins to drift further away.

Diary of a Ditched Girl (Netflix, September 11)
After all those romanticized romcoms, we need some hard reality. In the capital of Sweden, we follow 31-year-old Amanda (Carla Sehn), who is trying to navigate the modern dating circuit. Although she has been ditched by half the city, she makes the best of it. This is the realistic dating portrayal we've been waiting for, so grab a tub of ice cream, drag your friends along, and binge that series. With subtitles, of course.

Nightsleeper (Videoland, September 19)
For those who want more suspense, we have Nightsleeper. A night train from Glasgow to London ends in a rather unpleasant ride. The train is hacked, making it uncontrollable. During the night, the passengers fight for their lives against the hacker. Two strangers, Joseph (Joe Cole) and Abby (Alexandra Roach), team up to win this race against time.

Tonnano (Videoland, September 22)
Here it is again: Mocro Maffia. Or maybe not? Kind of. Tonnano is one of the favorite characters from the series, and he just got his own spin-off. Here, Tonnano (Khalid Alterch) tries to build a new life in – yes – the Achterhoek. He is not welcomed with open arms, as the notorious drug family Eysinck that runs the area is not waiting for him. It's a completely different story with different characters (if you don't count our drug friend).

Welcome to Derry (HBO, October 27)
Is it already tingling? In the Halloween month – yes, some of us celebrate Halloween all month – we get to know It. Or at least, we hope so. In Welcome to Derry we go back decades before the first film to 1962. We get acquainted with the dark history of Derry, and our favorite clown Pennywise. Cuddle up under that blanket and light some candles. And maybe say a little prayer, because you're going to need it.

Amsterdam Empire (Netflix, October 30)
No, this is not a new season of Undercover, but it is from the same creators. Famke Janssen – the one from X-men, Taken and GoldenEye – makes her first appearance in a Dutch production. She doesn't have the lead role, though. The story revolves around Jack van Doorn (Jacob Derwig) who runs a coffee shop empire. His careful business comes under pressure when his affair with a journalist (Elise Schaap) leaks. His wife Betty (Famke) is a former pop diva who knows exactly how to hurt him. Determined to ruin his life, she starts a battle to take everything from him.
Did you take notes? Good. Then you have something fun to look forward to, we're already ready for the TV. With popcorn, of course.
