This is how to get white and straight teeth without veneers

These famous people have fake teeth

White, neat, straight teeth. We all want them. But when brushing, quitting coffee, or avoiding red wine no longer helps, there's a next step: dentures. From Hollywood to Hilversum, so many famous people are getting veneers – I had to Google this too: veneers are just facings, a.k.a. dentures. These celebs have them, and this is how you can get whiter teeth without the whole facings process. But first, let's talk about Donny, because do you remember that video of his teeth in Turkey?

Donny's Dream That Became a Nightmarish Scenario

Donny Roelvink flew to Turkey for his veneers – nice and cheap, quickly arranged, and Instagram-ready. But the dream quickly turned into a dental drama. In an Instagram Story, he confessed that he suffered from infections, pain, and the realization that his own teeth would never come back - well, they don't grow back unfortunately. And to think he even promoted this treatment to his young followers. Ouch. Donny's story is now a reality check for anyone who thinks a perfect smile comes without risk. Everything about that white smile

White teeth have now become synonymous with ‘healthy’, ‘well-groomed’, and ‘clean girl aesthetic’. Well, white teeth have become just as important as a good bronzer at this moment. But not everyone is born with a symmetrical smile. So if Mother Nature didn't give you what you wanted, there's always that fake smile.

Veneers – or as we call it: the porcelain jacket for your teeth. They are ultra-thin, custom-made shells that are glued over your real teeth, also known as facings. They make your smile look like you were born with it (but better). Whether you have crooked incisors or a front tooth that has its own agenda, veneers straighten everything out. Think: Colgate commercial but then real life. Here you can read more about Veneers.

These Celebs Had Their Teeth ‘Fixed’

Zac Efron
In his High School Musical days, he had a slightly crooked, charming smile. Now his front teeth have been replaced with ultra-thin facings. Result: a smile as smooth as his jawline.

Simon Cowell
From a rough British grin to a row of porcelain pearls. Simon had his old facings replaced with porcelain veneers – more expensive, but 10 to 20 years durable. And that’s fair, for someone who looks critically at others' appearances as a judge.

Selena Gomez
Although nothing is confirmed, rumors have been swirling for years that Selena has facings. And whether it's dental work or pure magic, her radiant white teeth make her just a tad more camera-perfect.

George Clooney
Even Mr. Silver Fox had to give in. Due to teeth grinding, his teeth were significantly worn down. He opted for a complete smile makeover with facings.

Emma Roberts
Emma already had a beautiful smile including white teeth, but facings gave her just that finishing touch. Think: less ‘girl next door’, more wannabe lady.

Miley Cyrus
In her Hannah Montana days, she had a cute crooked tooth – and honestly, it was quite cute and it really made Miley Miley. But now Miley's smile has been perfected with porcelain veneers.

Kylie Jenner
Kylie wasn't hiding: she had her entire set of teeth worked on. The result? see it for yourself, well, this is indeed the most beautiful transformation.

That fake smile doesn't just come in 1, 2, 3

Getting veneers sounds like a quick fix, but it's anything but a simple procedure. You have to have about 15 percent of your teeth filed down – and that piece of tooth will never come back. Okay, you don't have to walk around with Donny's ‘dino-teeth’ if you do it right, but it remains a significant decision.

Don't be misled by the Hollywood smile, because facings/veneers are not right or wrong. It's your smile, your choice. The fact that celebrities are massively getting porcelain pearls doesn't mean you have to do it too. It costs money, it has risks, and it really has to suit you. A beautiful smile ultimately has less to do with whiteness and straightness, and more with how hard you laugh, right?

I get it – the idea of waking up with a perfect smile without years of braces or whitening strips sounds like music to the ears. But honestly? You don't have to go under the knife (or the drill) to get a beautiful smile. You can do all of this:

1. Professional whitening
If you really want results without damaging your tooth enamel, professional whitening at a dentist or dental hygienist is a safe option. Note: make sure to get well-informed, because improper use can make your teeth sensitive. Here you can read about whitening your teeth in Amsterdam.

2. Aligners – the invisible braces
Think Invisalign or a similar system. These are transparent trays that slowly push your teeth straighter. No metal braces or headgear, just a simple tray. It takes some time, but then you get results.

3. Whitening toothpaste – but use it wisely
Not every whitening toothpaste works equally well and some are actually just abrasive (hello, enamel damage). So choose a toothpaste with a mild formula, and use it a maximum of a few times a week. Combine it with electric brushing and flossing, and you'll get quite far. My favorite toothpaste? It's this one from Colgate.

4. Adjust your lifestyle
Drinking water after every coffee? Less red wine? Getting your teeth professionally cleaned regularly? These are small habits that can seriously reduce the yellowness of your teeth.

5. Go more often down there

Okay, this sounds a bit weird, but did you know that sperm is good for your teeth? It contains zinc and calcium, which are very good for those white pearls of yours. Want to read what else sperm is good for? You can do that here.
