With this sport, you stay fit without sweating

We know those 10,000 steps well enough. Walking is a fantastic way to stay fit while still having enough breath to catch up with your walking buddy. Personally, I always find it nice to combine my lunch break with a nice walk: you walk pleasantly towards your reward. But there are also much more exciting ways to stay fit without getting your heart rate too high.
Because not everyone enjoys working up a sweat
Strange but true, if you practice yoga regularly, it really has positive effects on your health. I thought this was only related to the fact that you learn to let go of tension and clear your mind during yoga, but it also has to do with the breathing you maintain while doing the exercises. The majority of yoga is primarily about good breathing. This helps with maintaining your balance and improving your flexibility. In the long term, this not only gives you the advantage of being more flexible, but also of having strong lungs, which in turn has benefits for the functioning of your brain. Particularly hatha yoga and yin yoga are good for this. Pilates also emphasizes breathing as an important element, but because you use a bit more strength here, it also has the side effect of developing strength and stability in your muscles.
With these sports, it may seem like you’re really not exercising at all, but nothing could be further from the truth
You’ve probably seen it in the park: a group of people moving slowly, sometimes it looks like they’re trying to move the air, or that they’re doing a slow-motion karate fight against something invisible. Yes, you can make jokes about it, but Tai Chi is indeed a sport. This calming way of exercising is not only meditative, but also beneficial for your coordination and balance. Especially for older people, this can be a good idea, or when you regularly have issues with your balance organ. Just as slow, but with a bit more power: golfing. You might think this is just as intensive a sport as chess (a thinking sport, yes) but besides that, golfing generally involves a lot of walking, and also challenges your coordination and flexibility. Try making the perfect swing, you feel the stretch in your muscles! In the mood for a truly refreshing moment with a chance of sweat? Then swimming is an excellent option. A dive into the water is not only refreshing, but due to the resistance, it’s very good for strength training while keeping your joints flexible and avoiding the impacts they get from things like weightlifting. And besides, you really don’t get too warm in the water: you cool off naturally.
