We found these to be the 11 very best series of 2025

2025 was the year in which ‘one more episode’ definitively became a lie. Series kept dropping, seasons followed each other faster than you could watch them, and before you knew it, the next must-see was already ready. While everyone is already talking about the latest seasons of Euphoria and Bridgerton, you are still in the middle of that one masterpiece from last year. Oops... Don't stress: this year was so full of good series that no one could keep up with everything. Are you still updating your watchlist before diving into a new series? Then I'll lend you a hand with the checkmarks; these series are so good that you really can't miss them.
1. Adolescence
In this intense British miniseries, 13-year-old Jamie is suspected of murdering a classmate. Everyone around him struggles with the question of what really happened. We follow the family, the detective, and especially the psychologist who tries to understand what Jamie is really like – and how his world could change so drastically. The beauty of Adolescence is how it is filmed: by shooting in one shot (uninterrupted scenes), it feels like you are right in the action. This is raw, realistic, and incredibly psychologically deep. It's the kind of series that gives you the creeps a bit, but you still want to keep watching.
2. Nobody wants this (season 2)
Now that Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody) are finally happy together, we dive deeper into their relationship. How will they deal with problems when the honeymoon phase is over? And that interfaith relationship – will that go well? Where love was once enough, they now have to take big steps to truly commit to each other and stay in each other's lives. This will be another mix of laughter and tears, so grab those tissues.
3. The Morning Show (season 5)
Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon) are back on air in a new season of The Morning Show. Now that UBA and NBN have merged, both newsrooms have to learn to work together again. But yeah, do that in a world where (ironically, for a news channel) no one is honest and everyone has a motive to lie about everything. And fake news with all sorts of deepfakes is lurking, which Alex and Bradley also have to deal with. Because yes: power, scandals, and personal dramas are never far away in this morning television.
4. Étoile
Do you think ballet is just glamour? Then you need to watch this series. Now that two of the biggest ballet institutions in New York and Paris are on the verge of bankruptcy, they are doing something very ambitious to save each other: they are swapping the two world-famous ballet companies. The most talented stars from New York are going to Paris and vice versa. How the characters cope with these financial and personal changes, we will see. And of course, there are again a lot of personal dramas (and also a lot of glamour) that you can't get enough of.
5. Bodem
Yes, there is of course also a Dutch series in this list. Here at our editorial office, we couldn't get enough of Bottom. Here we follow Cat, who is trying to get her life back on track. Now that she is clean after a long time, she starts working as a funeral director. But... that's not going smoothly. When she thinks everything is getting better, one wild night turns everything upside down again. Will she cling to that perfect picture or choose her own path?
6. The White Lotus (season 3)
This year, another big dose of murder and drama was ready for us in The White Lotus. Here we got to know the Ratliff family, who traveled to Thailand for their daughter Piper. She had to interview a monk for her thesis, but that was too boring, so the family added a vacation. Of course, there is much more going on than just a school assignment: there is a lot of drama in the family. There is incest between two brothers (yes, really), father Timothy wanted to commit suicide, and I haven't even mentioned all the financial troubles. So this is really not an average family, so we are not surprised that their vacation goes off the rails due to a murder. But who was murdered? And who did it? You have to watch to find out.
7. The Beast in Me
A psychological thriller? Sign us up. We really enjoy this kind of series and films. And in The Beast in Me , you are really on the edge of your seat. Writer Aggie Wiggs (Claire Danes, from Homeland) has never been the same since the death of her son. Now that she has completely withdrawn, she writes nothing anymore. That changes when new neighbors move in next to her. Real estate magnate Nile Sheldon (Leonard Gerome) was actually the prime suspect in the disappearance of his own wife. Aggie knows what she has to do: write a book about him. She goes on an investigation, which gets her into quite a bit of trouble.
8. Only Murders in the Building (season 5)
Now that there is another murder in The Arconia, Mabel (Selena Gomez), Charles (Steve Martin), and Oliver (Martin Short) are once again playing detective. After taking out Marshall P. Pope, they found the body of Lester, the doorman of their apartment complex, at Oliver and Loretta's wedding. And yes: who was that mysterious woman at the wedding who was so eager for the trio to investigate her husband's disappearance? So there are two mysteries, and our favorite detectives are going to solve them in a hilarious way.
9. The Summer I Turned Pretty
After all the drama of seasons 1 and 2, Belly (Lola Tung) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) are finally happy. After a few years at university, Belly is getting ready for a semester in Paris and Jere is graduating. All their plans come crashing down when Jeremiah admits he cheated. After deciding to continue together, Conrad – Belly's old love and Jeremiah's brother – re-enters their lives after four years. Is the happiness of the newly engaged couple strong enough to withstand Belly's still existing love for Conrad? And will the brothers finally bury the hatchet? This is really a must-watch. Now that all the characters have grown up, we get much more drama that you will keep watching. I want to know if Belly ends up with Jeremiah or Conrad.
10. Black Rabbit
Jude Law and Jason Bateman in a series together? We say no to that. In Black Rabbit , you get delicious New York City vibes and can enjoy two brothers who run into each other again after two years. The two used to run the restaurant Black Rabbit together, where everything revolved around status and attracting the biggest stars. Now that Jake (Jude Law) is running the show, Vince (Jason Bateman) suddenly reappears. He is charming and unreliable, as always. When creditors are not satisfied with a cocktail as payment, everything Jake and Vince have built goes wrong.
11. Severance
After a lot of Emmys, we can definitely say that you need to see this series. Employees of the mysterious Lumon Industries live in a very special work-life balance. Through a procedure, personal and work memories are separated. Yes, it's as insane as it sounds. This gives them two separate personalities. The system seems to work well until some work-persons start asking questions about what is really happening to them. In season 2, we dive deeper into the mystery surrounding the company after a failed whistleblower and escape attempt. Mark begins to realize that his wife is still alive and he wants to do everything to save Gemma (aka Ms. Casey).
So. Now you probably have enough to fill your list with all the must-see series. Will you manage to binge these during the Christmas holidays? I don't know, but now you know where to start before you get hit with the storm of series in 2026. Please.
