This is how you can enter clubs in Paris for free as a woman

And you also drink free Dom Pérignon

The Paris tips are flying around you and I'm certainly not done talking about it yet. Living as a student in my picturesque room overlooking the cutest streets of Paris is not enough; the necessary dances also had to be done on the weekends. My weekly trips to the most exclusive clubs of Paris really added to my exchange.

“But how do you get in there? Did you pay that much money?”

Going out for free in Paris as a woman

Being a woman has its downsides (fitting into pants and being on your period, does anyone actually like that?), but, as we all happily know, also plenty of advantages. In Paris, I had even more as a woman. When I first got here, I had to get used to that myself.

Through Instagram, there are club promoters looking for women who want to join for a night out. A bit like the Parisian equivalent of a tout, but then through your DMs and with a slightly more exclusive appearance. You are invited to get on the guest list and with that, you can enter certain clubs for free and enjoy drinks without having to pay for them. It might seem a bit strange if you're not used to it, but in Paris, this is apparently just part of the nightlife.

There is a certain dress code attached to it. Sneakers and casual jeans are better left at home. A nice pair of trousers, a skirt, or a dress works much better, and at many clubs, heels are actually a requirement. The higher and neater, the better, seems to be the motto sometimes.

But once you meet those conditions, a pretty luxurious evening is suddenly waiting for you. Think of exclusive clubs, bottles of Dom Pérignon and Grey Goose being passed around, and in the meantime, you don't have to keep pulling out your debit card. And before anyone draws other conclusions: no, there is no other ‘compensation’ for that. The goal is simply that clubs get their venue filled with guests.

Can you also eat out for free in Paris?

Yes ladies, even having a bite to eat outside doesn't have to cost you a cent practically. When I was already nicely made up and had put on my beautiful black pointy heels, I looked too good not to go out for dinner (jokes, of course). But it can really happen. The owners of these exclusive clubs also own restaurants in countless different places in Paris, where you can enjoy a nice meal before you let your wild hair down in the club all night. And when I say a bite, I actually got a 3-course dinner served in front of me.

The place I was at was called Peaky Paris. Sounds exciting, but this also went through the guest list. It helps (in my opinion) if you already know the promoters a bit, as you've been out with one of them before. You give your name at the door and are seated at a table. They often give three (also vegetarian!) options that you can choose for your starter, main course, and dessert. One drink is included (it can't be too crazy), no matter which cocktail. After that, everything is at your own expense. But believe me, your belly is already full enough and those remaining drinks are made up for in the club.

These are my favorite clubs in Paris

  • L’Arc in the 16th arrondissement
  • Little Room in the 8th arrondissement
  • Deflower in the 8th arrondissement
  • Cova Club in the 8th arrondissement

Bisous ma chéries et à bientôt, until the next Paris tips.
