This COS bag looks a lot like the Balenciaga Rodeo bag
There is almost every month a bag that I am utterly obsessed with. Last month it was the Coach Chelsea 30, before that the Demelier Stockholm and now it’s the Balenciaga Rodeo bag. No matter what I do; I can’t get this bag out of my head. Everywhere I look, it pops up. But yeah. The budget for this bag? I don’t have that. That’s why I’ve been hopelessly searching for a bag that comes close, and we’ve now found one. COS has a bag for more than €3000 cheaper.
The Balenciaga Rodeo is our dream work bag
Where I used to only see videos of the Chanel Maxi Flap, I now only see the Rodeo bag. In the coolest Insta dumps, on the arm of stars like Iris Law, on my TikTok for-you-page. In my nightmares, where I try to buy the bag and the card machine turns into a screaming Anna Wintour who comes to tell me that I ‘don’t have the funds to buy this bag’. Yes, it’s clear: I want this big guy, but Anna is right: my student wallet isn’t that thick. Logical, actually. Because who can lay down €3,800 for a bag in this current economy if your name isn’t Monica Geuze? That’s why I’m very happy with a cheaper variant.

Balenciaga doppelgänger: the COS Trullo flap bag looks like the Rodeo
Because yes: COS does it again. They have released a bag that suspiciously looks like the Rodeo. Only this one doesn’t have such an expensive price tag. Instead of €3,800, you pay €249 for this cowhide bag. That’s a lot better than having to save for three months and only living on olives and baguettes because you desperately want this bag.
And before you get all sorts of prejudices in your head: no, this is not a bad lookalike that somewhat has the same vibe. The Trullo flap bag has the same elegant shape and slouchy fit as the Rodeo. It’s about the same size, has the same thin strap, is made of real leather (very important) and it also closes with a small clasp. So there’s almost no difference to see, whether you have this bag or the Balenciaga hanging over your shoulder. And with that forty centimeters in width, every laptop fits in here. Isn’t that ideal? I know what my next work bag is going to be.
