Donny Roelvink on his breakup: “Shit happens”

This is the tea

Donny Roelvink is sitting on a beige couch in a warmly lit interview setting.

If you're a bit into showbiz (or just chronically on social media), you might already know what I'm going to talk about: the breakup between 28-year-old is now going to live on his own. I think it was about fourteen years ago that we lived together with our father.' Roelvink and his 23-year-old (now ex-)girlfriend Siham Sanad. But for the first time, the youngest Roelvink brother is now openly sharing what exactly happened.

Donny Roelvink on his breakup with Siham

Not so long ago, Donny and Siham were still passionately showcasing their relationship on Instagram. I already noticed that the two had unfollowed each other on Instagram. Anyone who follows the gossip channels knows that it's no longer all milk and honey between the two. Donny doesn't necessarily mention a name in the episode, but for everyone, it's basically just 1+1=2.

There were even rumors that the two were planning to get married, but Siham had already stated earlier on camera from RTL Boulevard that this was not the case. Neither Donny nor Siham ever confirmed a potential marriage. Fortunately, Donny does make it clear that he did have future plans at that time. “You're in love and you want to go for something. But yeah, shit happens. Life.”

Later in the episode, you can tell that he's handling it a bit better. “Then it can turn out differently in the end. And then it's a bit sour, but you just take it for what it is.”

Donny Roelvink poses smiling, in the news due to rumors about his relationship with Siham Sanad.

No more house, tree, animal

Not long ago, Donny moved to a, let's say, quite large property in Hoofddorp, where he envisioned living together. But now, of course, that has changed and there are big doubts about whether he still wants to keep his house in Hoofddorp.

“The idea of me coming here was that I would be with someone,” he tells the camera. “And if that's no longer with someone, what am I doing alone in such a big house?”

The consequences of that house, tree, animal are unfortunately a bit bigger than Donny might have predicted earlier. According to his older brother Dave, that property even cost “a fortune,” which leads to more practical consequences for him. Donny admits that he wasn't planning to leave quickly at that time. “Back then, I was convinced that I would stay here for the coming decades.”

Father Dries Roelvink on the breakup

Dad Dries is also quite disappointed that his son's future plans with Siham have changed. “We made a few jokes about it, but it's actually sad what happened.”

But Dave even added a bit more. “Donny often does things where he thinks he can make someone else happy, and sometimes he forgets about himself in the process.”

Woman-unfriendly comments from Donny

That Donny, because last week the poor man (I mean this ironically) also got a lot of backlash on the show Renze. Due to his rather conservative views on women. In case you've been living under a rock; in his podcast, he said he didn't want his girlfriend to have a male a personal trainer and that he actually wished he wouldn't have to forbid her, but that she shouldn't want to be trained by a man at all. That cost him dearly. Accusations about his conservative attitude towards women received a lot of criticism, including from Olcay Gulsen, who was sitting across from him at the table of Renze.

Not a golden week for Donny, then.
