Dua Lipa has tied the knot

Last weekend it finally happened: Dua Lipa Dua Lipa married her fiancé Callum Turner in London. On Sunday, May 31, they stepped out of the Old Marylebone Town Hall in London, surrounded by loved ones who threw confetti and flower petals.
The couple is not the first famous pair to tie the knot there, as celebrities often get married in this town hall. Paul McCartney married Linda Eastman here, Liam Gallagher married Patsy Kensit, and Melanie Griffith married Antonio Banderas.

It was a double take: Dua Lipa's bridal look resembled that of Bianca Jagger when she married Mick in 1971. She wore the Le Smoking jacket by Yves Saint Laurent, which had been released a few years earlier. This was unique because there were no high fashion formal tuxedos for women on the market before this. And she wore the jacket without a blouse or top underneath. Dua's perfectly tailored suit was designed by Schiaparelli's creative director, Daniel Roseberry. The gold buttons on the jacket were entirely in the signature Schiaparelli style, which often features bijoux in the form of golden eyes, faces, and sun motifs. The oversized silk hat with a gold leaf edge was designed by milliner Stephen Jones, who previously made hats for fashion shows by Dior and Vivienne Westwood. Jones shared on Instagram that he has known Callum since he was a baby, as his mother Rosemary Turner worked with him at his first hat shop. Dua completed the look with white satin gloves and white Louboutin Miss Z pumps. For jewelry, she wore diamond studs and a Bulgari Serpenti necklace fully inlaid with a total of 75 carats of diamonds. Turner's dark blue suit was made by Ferragamo.

The actual wedding celebration is said to take place this week, with reports indicating a three-day wedding planned in Palermo, Sicily. The choice seems not coincidental, as they vacationed there last summer. According to Cosmopolitan, we can expect Elton John, Charli XCX, Donatella Versace, Mark Ronson, Jennie, Rosé, and Simon Porte Jacquemus on the guest list.

Before the wedding, Dua posted photos of her bachelorette weekend in Ibiza on May 13, with about eighteen friends. She already wore some pre-bridal looks here. For instance, she wore a pearl halter bra top with dangling beads and a lace skirt. And in 2026, there are even bridal bikinis, which she wore from Oséree. The ‘paillettes microkini’ is the cheapest at 230 euros from the brand's Bridal Capsule. As the cherry on top, a sparkling mini dress from the Versace autumn/winter collection of 1995 with matching knee boots. Gianni Versace had the tradition of closing his shows each year with a bridal look. In 1995, this honor went to muse Kate Moss, and Dua wore the look at her bachelorette.

Lipa and Turner met at the Michelin-starred restaurant The River Café in London. Ruth Rogers, the chef and owner, introduced him to her. A year later, they ran into each other again during a dinner in Los Angeles and discovered they were both reading the same novel, Trust by Hernan Diaz. Shortly after, they started dating. That same autumn, engagement rumors began when Dua wore a large diamond ring on her left hand. But it wasn't until June 2025 that Dua confirmed the engagement to British Vogue. “It’s incredibly exciting. The decision to grow old together, to share life together, and, I don’t know, to stay best friends forever – that’s really a special feeling.” She also mentioned that Callum had designed the ring himself and sought advice from her sister Rina and friends. The singer described the design as “totally me.” Since then, she often posts photos on Instagram featuring the chunky gold diamond ring.
The town hall wedding in London may have been small, but the look was certainly one for the archives. Dua loves to make a fashion statement, and I am very curious to see what she will wear in Palermo.
