If there is one beauty brand that immediately grabs my attention, it is Olaplex. I can still remember so well when the Olaplex Nº.3 Hair Perfector was launched in 2014. It changed the hair care world (and especially my hair) forever. They started as a revolutionary at-home treatment that helped repair damaged hair bonds (which I needed, but didn't know until then), but it rightly grew into a global beauty phenomenon.

Now there is again a newcomer in the collection that I naturally want right away: the Olaplex Nº.7 Shine Serum Oil Mist. This is not a traditional hair oil (I already have that from Olaplex), but an ultra-light mist that combines shine, hydration, and heat protection. Okay, they have my attention. Because as I read the first reactions, this could very well become the next beauty hit from the brand.

Why Olaplex is so popular

Well, what sets Olaplex apart from many other hair care brands is its focus on repairing damaged hair bonds. Especially after coloring, bleaching, or frequent use of heat tools, hair can weaken. Thanks to their patented Bond Building Technology, they focus on strengthening the hair structure from within.

Meanwhile, the collection consists of shampoos, conditioners, treatments, and styling products. The new Shine Serum Oil Mist is the latest addition to that line. The price: €36.

Hair oil gets an upgrade

So, where classic hair oils can sometimes feel heavy or make fine hair greasy, Olaplex chooses a different approach. This Olaplex Oil Mist is sprayed as an ultra-fine mist over the hair, allowing the product to be applied evenly without having to first distribute oil between your hands. Really something for me.

The first reactions are promising

The Shine Serum Oil Mist has just become available, but the first online reactions are remarkably good. Beauty editors especially praise that ultra-fine misting and the light feeling that the product leaves behind. Users also describe it as a pleasant alternative to traditional hair oil, precisely because the hair visibly gains more shine without feeling greasy.

Especially people with fine or quickly weighing down hair seem enthusiastic about the formula. Those with very thick, dry, or strongly curly hair note in some reviews that a richer hair oil still provides more nourishment. The Shine Serum Oil Mist therefore seems primarily intended as a daily finishing touch that combines care and shine.

Is an oil mist the new hair trend?

No, certainly not. Olaplex is not the only brand that is focusing on lighter hair products. Shine and hair oils are booming. Therefore, other brands are also increasingly opting for sprays and mists that provide shine without weighing the hair down. So that trend is very clear: we want that healthy, shiny glass hair-look, but without the heavy feeling that traditional hair oils sometimes give. 100% suitable for my hair.
