Time for a summer Riviera cocktail: the St-Germain Spritz

Sorry, but it is really time for full sunshine now. Sun in the Netherlands is the perfect moment for a vacation feeling in your own country. The sun creates vibrant terraces like no other country can. A sunny terrace, the table full of small bites, and your friends who stay just a little longer than planned. Wonderful. Summer is about celebrating life, celebrating friendships. That, with the perfect cocktail: St-Germain Spritz.

St-Germain Spritz: an aperitif with a French twist

For me, summer always calls for slightly lighter and fresher flavors on the terrace, exactly the St-Germain Spritz. This genius cocktail tastes of that delicious elderflower with prosecco and sparkling water. Amayzine and elegant.

The French Riviera vibe is hot, by the way, I see it increasingly often on terraces and garden parties. Relaxed lifestyle, sandals on, and enjoying a long drink with St-Germain Spritz. What’s not to love?

Made from thousands of elderflowers

What makes the liqueur truly special is the base of freshly picked elderflowers. Up to a thousand flowers are processed per bottle, which gives that delicious floral taste. These subtle notes make the cocktail tasty and summery accessible.

Want to make it yourself? Here’s how you do it

Ingredients:

  • 40 ml St-Germain
  • 60 ml prosecco
  • 60 ml sparkling water
  • ice cubes
  • a zest of lemon

Fill a large glass with ice, pour in the St-Germain, and then add the prosecco and sparkling water. Stir gently and finish with a zest of lemon.

For serving the perfect cocktail, you can give the glass a more summery look by garnishing it with a few edible flowers (I always think that looks so cheerful)

Cheers to summer!
