These are the ice cream sundaes that everyone wants

By

All sweet tooths pay attention. In case you didn't know: I love ice cream. Pistachio, salted caramel, double chocolate, yogurt with cherries... I actually don't skip any flavor. As a child, I always got my ice cream in a cone and would always ask for whipped cream inside the cone. Nowadays, I skip the whipped cream, but I still have an ice cream in my hand on every summer day without exaggeration.

By the way, a mega tip if you ever visit Haarlem : definitely stop by Garonne and order a scoop of Toffee Fleur de Sel. This Italian family makes – in my opinion – the best ice cream in the whole of the Netherlands. Just for that, I would take a detour.

Summer or winter, I actually don't care. Even in winter (or like now during these “supposedly summer days” with rain), I'm still team ice cream. In fact: at home, I make ice cream myself all year round (with a Ninja Creami). One of my favorite kitchen appliances and perhaps the reason why there is always ice cream in the house.

And if there is something that makes me almost as happy as the dessert itself, it is the tableware in which it is served. Everything tastes just a little better from a nice glass. Although you might immediately think of classic ice cream coupe glasses, I personally prefer elegant cocktail glasses on tall stems. Think of coupe glasses, martini glasses, or other glasses with a nice base. They give a dessert an instantly more chic appearance and even make a simple scoop of vanilla ice cream look like it just came from an Italian gelateria.

Moreover, cocktail glasses are surprisingly versatile. They are not only perfect for an ice cream coupe with multiple scoops, but also for an affogato, panna cotta, chocolate mousse, fresh strawberries with whipped cream, or other summer desserts. And once the dessert is finished, you can just as easily pour a cocktail in during a long summer evening. In my opinion, they might just be the most multifunctional glasses in the cupboard.

With summer days around the corner, these glasses deserve a permanent place on the table. They give every dessert a touch of Italian allure and turn a simple dessert into a little party. So for everyone who, like me, thinks that a dessert should not only taste good but also look beautiful: I have collected the cutest cocktail glasses that are perfect for ice cream, desserts, and cocktails.
