Chic slope with washing perfume: you can't do without this ski holiday

By

Scent is more important to me on a winter sports holiday than on any other vacation. Aside from the fact that I generally enjoy my clothes smelling fresh, scent plays an even bigger role here. Hotel rooms and apartments hold onto everything: the heating blasting, the wet ski socks, that one sweater that just didn’t quite dry. Everything stays a bit damp and lingers in your beautiful pine wood room.

So no, skiing in 2026 is no longer just about speed and fashion on the slopes. It’s all about the bigger picture.

From dancing during après-ski moments to sitting by the fireplace. From cashmere base layers to a hotel room that feels just right as soon as you step inside. And for that, I’ve had the perfect solution for a few years now: I bring a scented candle. This makes a difference. Your hotel room or apartment becomes your own; you feel at home much faster. Scent plays a much bigger role than you think.

Because even before you think: how nice it is here, you’ve often already smelled it.

Scent is your very first emotion

Scent goes straight to the part of your brain where memories and feelings reside. That’s why a nice, familiar scent immediately feels warm, comforting, and luxurious. Exactly the feeling you want after a day of skiing in the cold. So, a tip from me: bring a few pleasantly scented items with you on your winter sports trip. Laundry perfume has the absolute best scents from the Netherlands for this, truly a lifesaver during your ski holiday. All vacations, by the way. Summer vacations benefit from it too. Believe me.

Laundry perfume as quiet luxury

2026 is all about a wonderfully pronounced ski style: short, wide puffer jackets, graphic après-knitwear, chocolate brown suits, leopard print jackets, moon boots, and faux fur leg warmers. And how nice would it be if all those cool items smelled great, instead of like wool or a wet ski bag?

A few drops of laundry perfume beforehand in your wash and you’re already on your way to a lovely experience. Just as it should be. If you also bring a fabric spray, you’ll keep the scent intact. Subtle, clean, and pleasant, without being too overpowering.

The little scent essentials that make everything just a bit nicer

Just like ski trends in 2026, this also applies to scent. These items you want to have standard in your suitcase:

  • Scent hangers for in the (usually just a bit too full) pine wardrobe. Ideal between your puffer, faux fur hat, and fleece set.
  • Fabric spray for all your clothing: scarf, sweater, and ski jacket. Just spray and your outfit is ready to go. My favorite is definitely the Essenza di Dolce. This one is truly amazing.
  • Scented candle, sorry, but this is really the best tip for any vacation. So nice to make your hotel room or apartment feel like your own.
  • Room spray: easy, quick, and delightful. You definitely need this in your life.
  • Just a little ski wash on-site for socks or thermal underwear: laundry strips. Perfect for a hand wash on vacation: a light and small package, ideal to take on your trip.
  • And lastly: the shower gel from Le Essenze, you probably didn’t know about this yet. That’s right, because they are brand new. And this one really belongs in your bathroom aside from winter sports. They are all truly amazing.

It’s those little things that make everything just a bit nicer..

Piste chic anno 2026: the bigger picture

So yes, this year ski fashion is delightfully expressive with, among other things, metallic puffers, cherry red, statement prints, and furry accessories. But don’t forget the scent, because this also fits seamlessly into it. You don’t have to take anything off or replace anything when you go off-piste: everything is right. Your outfit, your space, and even your suitcase.

Piste chic is therefore not just about what you wear, but also about how it smells.
