Conversation Piece

The Amayzine editors are all looking forward to shutting their laptops for a few days during the Christmas holidays and spending the time lost in a wonderful book. Be that on a beach in Rio or next to a crackling fireplace in Haarlem. We’re all going to enjoy. There are stacks of great still-unread books lying around, but these are our holiday favourites.

  1. Josselin – How To Be Parisian Everywhere You Go / Anne Berest, Caroline De Maigret, Audrey Diwan & Sophie Mas
“Because I love Parisians, and they always look amazing – like they’ve spent no time at all in front of the mirror, yet nothing is further from the truth. The book is written with great humour.”
  1. Charlene – Thrive / Arianna Huffington
“If you are planning to take over the world with an online platform, Arianna Huffington is a wonderful role model. I also find her modern take on the definition of success extremely inspiring.”
  1. MayIn My Shoes / Tamara Mellon
“The rebel founder of Jimmy Choo tells her story.”
  1. Liesbeth – The Fault In Our Stars / John Green
I cried my eyes out while reading this and couldn’t talk for at least half a day afterwards, because I needed time to reflect on the story. Since then it has been filmed and I hope you haven’t seen it yet, because you should read the book first. Then you can spend some time reading more work by John Green and it is so enjoyable, for example Will Grayson Will Grayson.”
  1. Jet – Plenty More / Yotam Ottolenghi
I cannot wait to devour the latest Ottolenghi book from cover to cover.”
