I’m writing this diary entry on the terrace of the The Standard Hotel, the hotel of New York, with May and MacBook, where we are working for a few hours. As I gaze around me, I see a constant stream of outrageously gorgeous and well dressed girls getting in and out of taxis while hordes of street style photographers crowd around to get the best photo. We have a bottle of Pinot Grigio on our table, next to a huge platter of French cheese, delicious meats and the very best fries in the world – because writing flows easier with a little wine and food. But let’s talk business, I’m going to tell you all about the last two days.

On Sunday morning May had to be at Victoria Beckham’s house at 7am (where she managed to take a goddam SELFIE with DAVID BECKHAM), because she hung out with model Maartje Verhoef all day, of which I’ll tell you all about later. Peggy and I left at a far more decent time and grabbed a taxi to the Gansevoort Hotel for breakfast and more writing. Or actually, I wrote, Peggy visited “a few” shops and reached her credit card limit after only two hours. Something about shoes from Nicholas Kirkwood. “Yes but I won’t buy any boots this winter and will only wear these Kirkwoods.” Imagine, open-toe pumps with a super thin heel, very handy for the cold and winter!

Then the time arrived for me to visit the incredibly hip Milk Studios in the Meatpacking District to take a peek behind the scenes at Tim Coppens. The make-up was taken care of by M.A.C. Cosmetics and the girls and boys were all sitting nicely in chairs being made more beautiful by the brush stroke. After Tim, I walked a few blocks (when I walk around by myself I always pretend that I’m a total New Yorker, you know what I mean) to the Skylight Modern building for the Edun show, and I got to go backstage again. After that I climbed into a taxi with Peggy and Kirkwood, and headed to the DvF show.

And that ladies and gents, that was a spectacle. Serious fashion people sometimes find this show a little mwaw, because the clothes are not ground-breaking (extremely beautiful with a high I-want factor), but the entire circus around the show made my heart beat very fast. The Hilton sisters were there, Anna Wintour, Rachel Zoe, Chiara Ferragni, Shea Marie and, AND, Olivia Palermo. Only the biggest and best models walk in this show (Kendall, Maartje, Candice, Constance, Naomi (!) that kind of girl) and Diane applauded them royally after the show. Then the moment arrived for May and I to slip backstage, but that meant that I couldn’t jump on Olivia for a selfie. Choices, choices. Backstage was awesome though, I found myself standing face to face with Naomi Campbell, Whoopi Goldberg, Kendall Jenner and I spotted Candice leaving at super speed.

Starving from excitement, Peggy and I headed out to Eat. We found a mega hip restaurant in the Meatpacking District and just around the corner from the hotel where Cécile Narinx (editor-in-chief Bazaar) and Esther Coppoolse (creative director ELLE) are staying. 2+2 = 4 and who knows maybe a bit of a dance could be waiting, so I SMS Cécile and 10 minutes later all four of us are sitting drinking white wine and eating feta sticks, because some fashion girls do eat.

So it’s Monday morning and the Tommy Hilfiger show is on the breakfast menu. And this too was incredible. I took a few street style photos afterwards and then May and I headed to the Lincoln Center for the Dennis Basso show (report to follow). Peggy ended up in Barney’s because a person can’t live on one pair of Kirkwood shoes alone.

After a quick pit stop at our Park Avenue loft for a clothing change (important), May and I headed to The Standard, where I started on this piece that you’re reading. We bumped into acquaintances left and right (hi Rodrigo Otazu!) and as soon as the fries were finished, it was time for the big closure of the day: shopping. All those bags that Peggy had in her arms were making our mouths water for something new, so on to Fifth Avenue for a big dose of  J.Crew, Club Monaco, Sephora and Gap.

And now we’re totally finished. Quickly home for a glass of wine/MacBook combo to finish this article. Now it’s bedtime and I’m leaving you so good night and sleep well. Bye and till tomorrow!
