Amayzine.com would like to keep you updated on the latest tips and tricks in the battle of acquiring a lean and healthy body because January is the ultimate detox, diet, I’m-going-to-work-out-again month. And we happened to cross the advice of Matt Roberts, British personal trainer to the stars, who says that it’s important to take a good look at your body type, and to let this determine how and what you’re going to work out.
What was the deal again with those body types? In general we can divide women into the following four categories: pear, apple, hourglass, and board. In stead of all women doing the same exercises at the gym, this trainer gives advice on which specific exercise to do when you’ve got a certain body type. So take notice!

Pear

Women with pear-shaped figures carry most of their weight around their hips and bottoms.
Who?
Rihanna
Beyoncé
What to do?
Intense interval work outs. This increases your metabolism and burns off fat. He also advises to do some weight lifting for your upper body to add more definition to your arms and shoulders.
What not to do?
Weight lifting using the muscles of your legs and your glutes. This will only strengthen this area. Try to add definition by doing squats (our favourite!) and lunges.

Apple

Women with apple-shaped bodies have really nice legs. Their legs are long and thin and her bottom isn’t too big. They’ve got more volume in the upper body and the arms.

What to do?
Interval work outs and long distance cardio. Focus on exercises that involve your abs, and try to strengthen your lower body with weight lifting.
What not to do?
Don’t do weight lifting with your arms and shoulders.

Hourglass

Famous for their curves, these women have full, round breasts and bottoms, and waspy waists.
Who?
Kim Kardashian
Lara Stone
What to do?
Running and other cardio activities. Try to exercise your entire body doing circuit work outs.
What not to do?
Don’t try to get rid of your curves, but work with them and add definition. Eat healthily, hourglasses gain weight easily.

Board

Very thin ladies with small breasts and bottoms. Little definition in the waist.

What to do?
Try to consume enough calories in order to gain more muscles and curves.
What not to do?
Don’t do too much cardio, and focus on weight lifting to build more muscles and shape.
