THE SECRET TO THE PERFECT SCARF

Makes no difference if it’s 30 degrees or 10 degrees below, I always have a scarf on me. People that face winter without one make me nervous, I’m frozen stiff after 10 metres without one. But finding the perfect scarf is tricky and I can spend forever searching for one. I recently bought an almost perfect scarf from Acne, but even this one, dare I say it, is not perfect enough. It’s a little small, I like mine Extremely Large. I discovered something last winter that solved my scarf problem and because I’m in a good mood today, I’m letting you in on my secret.

Stop looking for a scarf and start hunting down a plaid. That’s right, a blanket for on your couch. It’s so simple but so brilliant (sticking some feathers in my own cap here) because a plaid is always big, thick and thus warm. The huge thing I’m wearing in the  photos above? That one is from H&M Home. I took it with me to New York Fashion Week last February (where it happened to be minus 10 degrees) and it was a total hit, street style photographers wanted to know where I got it from because oh my gooooosh it’s like soooo super amazing like oh my gosh!

That is the trick. The secret. The solution. Go to Ikea, H&M Home, Zara Home or any other homes store and focus on the plaids. Drape and tie them around yourself until you find one that hangs right, pay for it and be just as happy and warm as me.
