SIZZLING SUMMER

– Chanel’s makeup collection –

The week started great at Amayzine HQ. The sun was shining and we received a package. Not just any package, no a bag with two black Cs on it, the contents of which cheered many an editor. May and I were over the moon with the happy pink toiletries bag and Jet was green with envy. She didn’t know that she too had received a toiletries bag too. Two packages were delivered.

Right, the contents. The summer collection of Chanel have always been cheerful, but now it looks like the sun has been trapped in a toiletries bag. The colours are vibrant and will look great on a bronzed skin.

Summer on the eyes

There’s bronze, copper, and lavender for the eyes, which all contain a beautiful shimmer. Perhaps use purple or orange mascara for a festive touch. Perhaps not the entire eye because that might look a bit intense, but why not do the tips of your lashes? It’s waterproof so you can go to the beach and swim without having to look like a panda when you get out of the water.

Polished in sweet colours

Colours on the eyes mean colours on the nails. Bright summer tints and pastel colours are the thing right now. Colours like Tutti Frutti and Mirabella will probably already say enough. The colours orange, clear pink, and grapefruit look like sweets. The big surprise is perhaps the Eastern Light. A white, matte polish which you can only wear in combination with those great summer colours. Chanel wouldn’t be Chanel if it didn’t suggest a great trend. The crescent moon idea. French Manicure 2.0. This alone is reason enough to make sure you own those polishes as soon as possible.

Lips

They look like candy canes which you’d like to devour instantly, but they’re just lip glosses that give your lips some colour. The colours look brighter in the bottle than on your lips. On your lips it looks transparent and fresh. Colours like hello, happy, sunny, and sexy are perfect on your lips all day.

Let it be clear, I’m in love with the collection. You are probably too. And Jet is in love with the toiletries bag. So Jet, you can have it. On the condition that I get to see that smile on your face all summer (and a hundred seasons) long. And on the condition that I get to do my makeup with all these treasures from the collection. I hope this summer lasts an eternity.
