AH, FEELS GOOD

Right, it was only a matter of time: the number of annual butt implants increase drastically. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons published a research this week that states that a new set of butt implants have never been as popular. Last year, about 10.000 bums were lifted and filled in the United States, which meant a 16% increase compared to the year before. There are several reasons that could be ascribed to this increase. The bum obsession already started when Pippa Middleton followed her sister to the altar in The Dress and the internet exploded because, honestly, she had a very good bum in that dress. But except Pippa, we also got Kim K, of course, and long before her Jennifer Lopez. Jen already made it a sport to have her bum look as round as possible, and so we might call her Kim’s predecessor. More is happening besides Kim, Jen, and Pippa. The rising popularity of big bums popped up at around the same time when there were horror stories about women who, not having money or knowing a suitable surgeon, played surgeon themselves. There are cases known of women injecting themselves with a silicon kit, all kinds of oils, glue and even cement (but WHY?!). Though you can also do it naturally like the Instagram celebrity Jen Selter. This 22 year old has over 2,5 million Instagram followers (amongst who Rihanna) and became famous because of her enormous bum. It’s as round as a basketball. She mostly posts workout details which the entire world seems to follow. Right, women who inject themselves with cement make little sense, but I wouldn’t want a bum like Jen Selter or Kim K’s. I hope women with fake bums are happy though. Don’t dare to undergo surgery? Then why not enjoy this. Success.
