Most talked about dresses 2014

We see quite some outfits pass by our eyes. Amayzine editors obviously scour all international catwalks, peruse the Net-a-porters and MyTheresa’s of this world for you and all the red carpets are scrutinised and discussed. In short, thousands of dresses are burned on our brains during the year, but only a few are still spoken about by the end of it. These high profile examples deserve a mention in our Top 5 Most Talked About Dresses 2014.

Rihanna surprised friend and foe in June, by appearing in a top to toe see-through dress on the red carpet at the CFDA Awards. She was kind enough to pull on a pair of knickers to satisfy the prudish among us, but her breasts were on show in all their glory. The entire world went crazy and designer Adam Selman became famous overnight.

Everybody fell in love with 12 Years A Slave-actress Lupita Nyong’o in that baby blue Prada dress that she wore to the Oscars ceremony. She won the Oscar and in our opinion the award for Best Dressed.

She definitely is the most stylish of the entire K-clan, yet Kendall Jenner appeared in an extremely daring dress at the MuchMusic Awards in Canada, with ultra high side-splits, which had everyone worrying about this top model ending up with a bladder infection by the end of the night.

Ilse DeLange chose Danish-Dutch designer Claes Iversen to create an outfit for the most important night of her life. She walked on to the Eurovision Song Festival stage in a cream-white dress and the rest as they say is history.

We had to end this year with this great master, and we are fortunate to feature one of his beautiful creations in this list thanks to Sarah Jessica Parker, who wore this fairytale dress by Oscar de la Renta to this year’s MET Gala.
