I almost always have a green smoothie if it’s on the menu. Must be freshly made though.
Yesterday I spent half of my day on the terrace at Bar Spek. One of my favourite places in Amsterdam. I worked there for a short time (until the Amayzine-adventure landed on my plate), and my dear friend Merel is serving, so it feels like being at home. This Green Monster smoothie is going in my recipe book. Delicious.
What’s in it and how do I make it?
- Half a cucumber
- 1 Granny Smith
- Half an avocado
- A handful of spinach
- A handful of basil
- A teaspoon of Spirulina (chock-full of protein and gives energy)
Juice the cucumber and apple. Pour the juice into a blender with all the other ingredients and blend together. A perfect kickstart to your Monday I thought.
