So it’s going to be January 1st before you know it and then everyone will be back in their “I’m going to take it slow” mentality. As is the whole “I’m going to start working out for that summer body” resolution. One of our interns even ordered an entire health kit that are apparently supposed to help her drop a couple of kilos. Sigh. First of all she doesn’t need it and second of all, there are better ways to drop the weight. Take your time, work out, eat healthy and be happy. I know it’s easier said then done but don’t rush it. Believe me.

If you’re thinking about getting someone a cool present to start the year off fit, then here are some fun ideas to help you out.

  • A jump rope; they have them in all the colors of the rainbow and if you jump about 300 times a day, you’ll be happy with the end result.
  • A trip to the spa sounds like a great way to start off the new year right?
  • How about a cool water bottle? You have so many cool options to pick from nowadays.
  • You’re more likely to run around the block if you got cool running gear on. Nike is always a great place to shop but even H&M has some coveting work out clothes.
  • Now that the temperatures are dropping, I workout with an extra layer. I use those turtlenecks; great way to beat the cold.
  • A bit on the heavier side but a kettle bell is always a great attribute to have at home.
  • Buy a great cook book and set up dinner dates to cook for each other.
  • A rather big present, I know, but no one will ever say no to a great blender. It’ll make making shakes and soups so much easier.
  • A bright colored yoga mat.
