24 hours in london
PR firm UPR and UGG Australia invited us to head on over across the pond for a day in London. UGG had arranged two gorgeous Vespa’s for us to cruise around on, on our way to our favorite places in the city. And let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to travel through a city on a scooter. But fair is fair, I was a bit nervous.
My partner in crime Jet is a very seasoned scooter driver, but I have never in my life ridden one before and they kind of scare me if I’m being brutally honest. Sitting on the back and having someone else drive is fine, but driving one on my own? I would kindly refuse. But to my relief, the PR firm emailed us and told us that the scooters would be accompanied by two chauffeurs. Besides, we know London quite a bit, but not well enough to zigzag our way through the city on the left (!) side of the road.
Anyways, after a very short flight we landed at City Airport where a man was waiting to pick us up and drop us off in the center of London at the ME Hotel. And boy was that a hoot. Never before had I seen such big hotel rooms in London and it was so luxurious that we were pretty much ready to pack up all our things and move in. On our beds we found a bag with two fresh new pairs of UGG’s which were more then welcome for the fall and with winter right around the corner. After a good hotel room inspection, we headed downstairs where our scooter drivers were waiting for us.
John and Andre were prepped to jet through the city with us in their flashy rain gear. We started off in Shoreditch, quite possibly our favorite place in the city. Passed by The Hoxton Hotel, Soho House and a whole bunch of cute streets and boutiques.
One of our many stops was at Joe & The Juices and ladies and gents – go here. I’m not a big juice drinker per se, but hey, if it’s a good looking’ guy making ‘em, then I’ll drink them any given time of day. Yes please. I swear, all the men there are way too good looking.
In the evening we had dinner at STK, a restaurant situated in our hotel. The food was so exceptional and the joint alone looks great too. Both Jet and I were still struggling a bit with our jet lag from New York so we dived into our beds at 21:00 and three (!) hours later we were already wide awake.
After tossing and turning trying to get back to sleep, we decided we would call room service and order some tea since they say it helps you fall asleep. And it sure did cause after about an hour we finally dozed back off to sleep.
The following morning we started off with my absolute favorite breakfast (salmon + eggs + avocado) and my travel buddy and health editor Jet had already spent an hour working out in the gym (surprise surprise) while I stayed in bed a little while longer. We walked around our neighborhood for a bit before heading back to the City Airport where a small little plane was waiting to jet us off back across the pond. The trip was short and sweet so thank you UGG for these wonderful 24 hours in the city, and also for our winter ready warm feet.
