6X the most annoying instagram photos

during Fashion Week

Oh oh oh Fashion Week, the most hectic time of the year, where anybody who is anybody and even anybody who is nobody is suddenly in the picture. Compris? Fashion Week and Instagram go hand in hand and it’s great and all cause it keeps you in the loop of all the shows, but the cliché factor sky rockets. Not that I’m not guilty in taking part in these, but still: hereby the most irritating Instagram pictures that you are guaranteed to come across in your Insta feed.

the blurry runway photo

Feigned under the idea that: “If it’s not on Instagram it didn’t happen,” the most blurry photos of models shadows are being uploaded cause hey, you were at the show weren’t you. By now I know that there’s another side to posting these pics. Cause well, these pics aren’t great on the ‘like’ regulator and you know it, but you want to please the PR company that invited you to the event so even my account occasionally (not always) has a runway photo which I know will hardly receive any likes. So now you know, there’s a reason for these posts.

pic of your invite

A picture of your gracefully placed legs in a pretty cab with perfectly manicured nails, a hip arm party and an invite in hand for the show you’re headed to go and watch. See, a runway photo is proof that you were actually at the show, but it doesn’t mean you were invited (sneaking into shows has become a popular sport), and a photo of your invite with your own name on it takes away any doubt that you could have just snuck in. Another photo to please the PR companies.

Look-at-my-messy-room

Don’t even get me started on the drama that is my hotel room here in NY. It looks like a crime scene. Maybe I should suit up in a fancy outfit and pose stretched out across my bed and post “so sleepy after a day full of shows #dontmindmymessyroom,” cause seriously, that’s what everyone else seems to be doing.

Lunch with avocado

I’m not exactly sure when avocado turned into the new black – wait no, the new gold. But I do know that everyone is eating them and is more than keen to show it on Insta. I’ve done it too by the way. Another Insta post I’m not proud of.

the taxi selfie

Yeahh these babies will pop by like none other in your feed. A face with perfectly applied makeup in a taxi (Kristina Bazan loves them) and then with some text that you’re stuck in traffic on your way to a show. Or even better, “fashion week let’s do this!” Sigh.

the street style photo

A lot of popular bloggers are great friends with street style photographers and the latter send them the photos they shot within no time (a couple hours max) so that they can post the photo on Instagram and tag them ASAP. How on Earth did you expect them to always find the snaps of them so quickly?
