I’m taking a small step on our happy & healthy editor’s turf here, but I’ve also jumped on the fitness bandwagon. And these days I’m moving a bit more than just my right hand in the direction of my mouth and my cardio consists of more than just a quick trot down the street for a bit of shopping. That’s right, I’m actually working out and visiting the gym. So all of a sudden I feel very knowledgeable in this area. Besides, I’ve already done three workouts on the beach this week. I’m addicted and here’s why;
1. Proud as punch
Exercising during a holiday is not a must, holidays are for being lazy and guiltlessly doing nada. But if you do roll out your mat and do a 50 minute workout, you’ll be so extremely proud of yourself. Afterwards, all the hungover vacationers with their pot bellies will raise their sun hats to you in admiration.
2. Take it home with you
We are already trying our best to return home looking like glowing bronzed beauties, but returning with an extra couple of holiday kilo’s it’s not completely the look that we are going for. Of course it doesn’t really matter, but how good does it feel to return with a tanned and taut tummy? Guaranteed happiness.
3. Beautifully bronzed
Moving in the sun helps to make your color deeper and more beautiful. Be sure to apply a good amount of sunscreen, we want to avoid the wrinkles and the spots (not to mention the dreaded ‘C’ word).
4. Your lunch tastes so much better
Eating is much more rewarding and is so much more deserved after a workout. Moreover, you are also truly hungry and everything tastes even better. And of course you can have a little glass of something special on the side. You’ve earned it.
5. The memories
Working abroad is fun and so is exercising. It makes you feel a bit like a local and that just adds to the special holiday memories. So I’ll see you at 9am tomorrow morning on the beach?
