Cher for Marc Jacobs

Seeing them attend the MET gala hand-in-hand could have tipped us off. But on the other hand, who would have guessed it? Cher is the new face of Marc Jacobs.

Katie Grand — the editor of Love magazine who creative directs the campaigns for Marc Jacobs each season — unveiled the newest ads for the New York-based brand on Wednesday. The 69-year-old actress and singer wears a floor-length black gown from Jacobs’s dark, moody fall 2015 collection, which was initially inspired by Diana Vreeland’s apartment in her later years. Cher has been a fashion industry staple since the ’60s, so it’s not surprising that she looks incredible in the portraits shot by David Sims.

There’s been no shortage of iconic celebrity women in fashion campaigns over the last year, from Joan Didion’s Céline ads to Joni Mitchell posing for Saint Laurent. We all loved them. But this one just might be our new favorite.
