She’s probably the prettiest housewife to ever join the show – a fact she so ironically underlined with her introductory tagline: ‘I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I’m pretty!’ – and has been a very amusing addition to the The Real Housewives Of New York City ever since. Whether it’s engaging in a good old cat fight with Bethenny and Ramona, her crazy Elvis obsession or her fabulous outfits. Because if there is one thing Kristen Taekman is good at it’s showing off a gorgeous look.
Kristen has been a model for over 20 and recently took her sense of style and expert posing qualities to the next level with the launch of her own fashion blog; Last Night’s Look by Kristen Taekman. On top of that the blonde mother of two created her own line of nail polish Pop of Color inspired by ‘the greatest city in the world’. Maybe pretty is smarter than we think.

What’s your favorite…
Perfume?
Jill Sander Sun, for sure. It’s alcohol-free and my summer go-to. The scent is great for both day and night.
TV show character?
Betty Draper, I love her 50’s 60’s style. I love her old school housewife mentality. I’m also just obsessed with Mad Men. It was a sad day when the series wrapped.
Real Housewives trip?
Montana was the best/worst trip of my life. LOL. I don’t think people usually feel that way about vacations. I loved being in the country, seeing the stars every night and soaking up the fresh air. You just can’t get that vibe in NYC. However, the trip was slightly marred since the girls and I were not in the best place at that time on the show.
Breakfast food?
Scrambled eggs with a gluten-free bagel and an orange EBOOST. Gets my day started off right in a healthy way.
Magazine?
InStyle. I love the fashion spreads and the amazing celebrity features. I always pick up the new issue when it comes out.
Weekend getaway?
Definitely the Hamptons, without a doubt. No matter what time of year it is, it’s great for a getaway. Great meals fresh air and friends.
Mascara?
I am a Maybelline girl for sure, in just plain, old black.
Alcoholic beverage?
Sauvignon Blanc with a couple cubes of ice always… I usually have 2 glasses and then move on to mint tea unless I know I don’t have to get up with the kids the next day (which is rare!)
Workout?
Ugh, at the moment, I’ve been so busy that I haven’t been doing much either. To compensate, I’ve had to give up sweets for the most part which has been tough. That being said, I love Pilates and spinning.
Restaurant in the whole world?
Lure Fishbar in NYC. The Lure Burger is the best.

Road trip song?
‘Look out Look out Look out!‘ I remember singing that in the car with my family growing up and my dad would slam on the brakes thinking that we were going to hit something. Definitely not funny in the moment but hilarious later on.

Manolo Blahnik, of course!
